33 Immortals: How to Beat Lucifer

33 Immortals: How to Beat Lucifer

33 Immortals is a co-op action roguelike that throws you into large-scale battles with up to 32 other players. You’ll dive into a fiery underworld inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, facing off against waves of enemies, completing Torture Chambers, and gearing up for a final showdown against powerful bosses. It’s chaotic, fast-paced, and all about working together to survive.

Lucifer is the main boss of Inferno, the first biome in 33 Immortals. And as you might expect, this fight is no joke. With a massive health pool and a brutal mix of unblockable and undodgeable attacks, Lucifer can wipe out a group in seconds if you’re not paying attention. But like any other challenge in the game, with the right strategy, he can absolutely be defeated.

Lucifer’s Attack Patterns in 33 Immortals

As mentioned above, Lucifer is the final boss of Inferno in 33 Immortals. After completing the required number of Torture Chambers, Ascension Battles unlock. You have to head to one of the three Ascension Battle arenas that spawn on the map and fight off hordes of monsters. If you manage to kill all the enemies before flame engulfs the arena, you can ascend to face off against Lucifer.

The boss has a massive health pool with 10 separate health bars that you’ll have to fight through. Lucifer has two primary attacks that you’ll see constantly during the fight:

  • A slam attack that targets a cone-shaped area in front of him.
  • An Icicle Drop that damages anyone caught in the AoE.

These are well-telegraphed and can be avoided by dodging out of the red zones when they appear. As long as you’re not getting greedy, you’ll be fine. Lucifer also periodically spawns other Elites. You’ll have to coordinate with your team to bring them down quickly, or they can overwhelm you quickly. Additionally, Lucifer can wave his wings to push players away from him from time to time.

Lucifer also has three unavoidable attacks that require quick coordination and awareness:

  • Last Betrayal

Lucifer spawns three powerful blue Elites in the arena. You’ll also see the Last Betrayal Casting bar on top of your screen below Lucifer’s health bar. Once the casting bar fills up, Lucifer fills the entire arena with Ice Spikes that deal unavoidable damage. However, if you manage to defeat the three Elites before the bar goes up to full, safe zones will appear during the Ice Spike attacks.

Two Ice Shackles appear on Lucifer’s Wrists, and the boss gains an additional one-handed Slam attack. Similar to Last Betrayal, a casting bar appears under the boss’s health bar. Once it fills up, Lucifer summons Hateful Fists from the ground, filling up the entire arena, dealing unavoidable damage. Your goal is to Destroy one or both Ice Shackles before the casting bar fills up to create safe zones.

  • Eternal Sorrow

This one is perhaps the most annoying of Lucifer’s special attacks to deal with. The boss spawns multiple Icy Tears in the arena. If the casting bar fills up, Lucifer creates an Ice Storm that deals unavoidable damage. You must destroy all the Icy Tears in the arena to create safe zones where you can avoid damage.

To avoid these special attacks, you’ll need to work closely with your team. If you’re playing with friends, communication makes these phases much easier. If you’re solo queuing, watch what your teammates are doing and stay in sync.

How to Beat Lucifer in 33 Immortals

Lucifer is certainly a tough battle to get through in 33 Immortals. Here are a few tips to make the fight go in your favor.

Work Together

You can’t beat Lucifer by trying to go solo. The arena is massive, and the fight is designed for a full squad. Focus on building Co-Strikes by attacking the same target as your allies to increase your critical hit chance. Also, focus on reviving your teammates if they go down. The more players you have fighting, the faster you can burn through Lucifer’s massive health pool.

Know Your Role

There are four different weapons in 33 Immortals, and each one plays a specific part in the Lucifer fight:

Sword of Justice

Stay close to Lucifer and parry as often as you can. Use your Co-Op Power to grant armor to your allies whenever the bar is full.

Dagger of Greed

Focus all your damage on Lucifer and build up your Crit Chance with consistent Co-Strikes. The Dagger’s Co-Op power isn’t too useful here, so just lean into your DPS role.

Bow of Hope

Keep your Co-Strike meter high and handle any Elites that spawn around the arena. Use your Co-Op Power to hit Lucifer hard when the window opens.

Staff of Sloth

Support your team by using Co-Op Power frequently to create safe zones. Focus on reviving allies and using Torpor to slow down or trap Elites.

Focus on Surviving

The Lucifer fight is less about burst damage and more about discipline and patience. Even if your run has been smooth up to this point, taking unnecessary risks can set your whole team back. One mistimed attack or greedy move can get you killed, so always prioritize staying alive over squeezing in extra damage.

Stop the Unavoidable Attacks

When Lucifer starts channeling one of his major attacks, like Last Betrayal, shift your focus immediately. Stop hitting Lucifer and take out the Elites that spawn around the map. Doing this creates safe zones for your team and prevents everyone from taking massive, unavoidable damage.

Reward for Defeating Lucifer in 33 Immortals

Throughout the battle, Lucifer will drop Eternal Shards and Purgatorio Keys depending on how many of his health bars you manage to deplete. Even if you die during the fight, any rewards dropped by the boss will stay with you when you return to Dark Woods.

However, the biggest prize is reserved for those who manage to bring him down completely. Defeating Lucifer rewards you with a unique Legendary Chest containing Eternal Shards, Paragons, and an additional Purgatorio Key. Considering how rare Paragons and Keys are, it’s always worth trying to finish the fight whenever you get the chance.

Lucifer is meant to test everything you’ve learned throughout your journey in the Beyond. Knowing how to work with your team and understanding your role is essential for winning this fight in 33 Immortals.
