Nexon has just released a hotfix for The First Descendant and is dealing out Crystalization Catalysts for everyone as compensation for the upcoming leaderboard reset.
We recently got the long-awaited April 17 update, which added Ultimate Blair, Medals as a new feature, new Modules, a special Void Erosion Challenge difficulty, and much more. On the topic of the Void Erosion Challenge, it also got its own Leaderboard. The fans were skeptical of these Leaderboards, but they turned out to be pretty useful in tracking hackers. And everyone loves a bit of competition now and then. Unfortunately, some unexpected issues can have an impact on the Descendant’s performance and give them unfair advantages, leading to better “scores”. Such was the case with a new Module, which performed better than it was intended.
The Latest Hotfix for The First Descendant Will Be Followed by a Leaderboard Reset, and Nexon is Giving Out Free Crystalization Catalysts as Compensation
There is a new Module that was just added called Veil Analyzer, which immensely increases your Firearm damage, but against Shields only. As it turns out, that additional damage managed to bleed into the target itself, ie, into its regular HP, not just the Shields, giving players an unfair advantage (and consequently, a better placement in the Leaderboards). It was quickly noticed and fixed by the devs on April 18.
However, the scores are still there, so Nexon decided to reset the whole leaderboard. But, to compensate, they will hand out free Crystalization Catalysts for everyone.
Hotfix Details
- Fixed an issue where additional damage was being applied to targets other than Shields when the “Veil Analyzer” Module was equipped.
- This issue has also affected the Leaderboards, so all Leaderboards except for “My Record” will be reset.
- The Leaderboard reset is scheduled to take place at 00:00 (PDT) on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

- The rewards will be sent to your in-game mailbox within approximately 10 minutes upon logging in on the designated distribution date.
- Please claim and use your reward before they expire on PDT 2025.05.04 (Sun) 23:59.

It is very commendable that they chose to reset the Leaderboards to keep everything fair. And the compensation is nothing to smirk at, as everyone needs Crystallization Catalysts, so another great move by Nexon.
