“She’s a Mutant As Well!” Latest Marvel Rivals Patch Fixes Emma Frost and Her Interaction With a Seasonal Quest

We can’t deny that Emma Frost is the highlight of Season 2. The White Queen of the Hellfire Club quickly took the hearts and minds of the whole community. Naturally, Season 2 is all about her and the mutant kind, but it looks like the devs forgot the fact that she’s a mutant as well. Thankfully, NetEase just released a Patch that, among other changes, fixes Emma Frost and her interaction with a certain Seasonal quest in Marvel Rivals.

Season 2 added the aforementioned Emma Frost to the roster, who is a very powerful Vanguard hero. We also expect Ultron to be added in the second half of the Season. There is also a new map, Krakoa, new Skins (to correspond with the Hellifire Gala’s formal style) for almost every Hero, changes to Team-Up abilities, and naturally, new Seasonal quests. On that last note, it looks like there were some issues with a particular quest, which required you to deal damage with any Mutant. It turns out it didn’t count Emma Frost as a Mutant, and thankfully, that has just been fixed.

On April 24, the Marvel Rivals X page announced that an error with Emma has been fixed. “Dear Rivals, In Challenge 4 of the seasonal event Cerebro Database, we noticed an issue where damage dealt by Emma Frost was not being counted toward Mission 5: “Deal 10,000 Damage as any Mutant in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice VS. AI.” This issue has been fixed in the latest patch. Thank you for your support and understanding!”

For the record, the Patch they are referring to is the Marvel Rivals Version 20250425 Patch, which was recently released (on April 24, at April 24 at 9am UTC). It added the hilarious Giant-Size Brain Blast mode, for which the players are excited, new Skins, emotes, and a bunch of other minor improvements.

It’s great that NetEase finally did something about this issue. It’s been a while since the release of Season 2, but better late than never.
