“Mimics? Free to Play?” REPO Developers Answer Fan Questions in the Third Q&A Video

REPO is still going strong, and its player base is getting more and more creative. It is almost impossible to miss out on all the hilarious videos that are circulating the community, and that only speaks to the sheer popularity of the game. Naturally, the players want more and more info about to game and its future updates. Thankfully, the devs just released a third Q&A video, revealing even more pieces of information about REPO

The Third REPO Q&A Video Breakdown

Players always have a ton of questions at the ready, about the game, its creation, and its future. Last week, the devs held their second Q&A session, where we found out a bunch of interesting stuff. And now, on April 25, Semiwork released another silly video, where they answer some fan questions.

The questions and answers can be found below.

Q: Will you add a Mimic monster?
A: “Yes, we’ve had talks about a Mimic. Actually, from pretty early on, but we want to make sure that if we add a Mimic, it needs to be really interesting. So my answer to you is: maybe.”

Q: Are you going to add something to do in the truck? Like a hub?
A: “There are no plans for this, as of right now.”

Q: Will you add pets/companions to R.E.P.O.?
A: Again, “There are no plans for this, as of right now.”

Q: How does player feedback impact the game’s development?
A: “Our testers help us test the game as we are developing. They give us feedback and try out all the new stuff that we add. We also get a ton of valuable feedback from players playing the live version, and we are really thankful for all the help we get from everyone.”

Q: Do you have any plans to address the Health glitch in the truck that everyone likes to use?
A: “We have a pretty good grasp on the exploits and glitches that the game currently offers on the live version, so to speak. And most of these things have already been fixed, and they will be pushed out together with the first Update, ie, Update 1.”

Q: Will a Sandbox mode be added to R.E.P.O.?
A: “No.”

Q: Are you gonna do a competition or showcase fan-made stuff on YouTube?
A: “This is something that we’re actually very excited to do and something we wanna do. But it probably won’t happen until after we release the first Update.”

Q: Why is multiplayer specifically six players maximum?
A: “While playtesting R.E.P.O. and experiencing other multiplayer games, we found that six players is usually the sweet spot. When playing [with] four players, there is usually one more who wants to join in, and you have to take turns while playing, and we wanted to avoid that. Also, more [than six] players equal exponentially more server traffic, which is something we want to avoid.”

Q: Will you make a Stamina regen upgrade?
A: “We had an idea for a Stanima regeneration upgrade that would trigger when you crouch, but this is still a work-in-progress idea.”

Q: How did you advertise and make people find out about R.E.P.O.?
A: “Social media. We just recorded playing the game [with] a bunch of friends and just enjoyed R.E.P.O. as it was and as it is. We even did some skits in-game to show the wide variety of things that you can actually do in R.E.P.O.”

Q: What exactly are the orbs that monsters drop when you kill them?
A: “Those orbs are the very souls of enemies that you have killed. Be careful, as they are very fragile, or you might end up in a very sad situation.”

Q: Do you plan to make R.E.P.O. Free-to-Play?
A: “No, there are no plans to make the game free to play, as we don’t want to add microtransactions or have cosmetics that you buy with real money. Things like cosmetics you get for free by just simply playing the game. After buying the game initially, of course.”

Q: When will the first update be released?
A: “We understand that people are very eager. Like, with every video we release, people are longing for the new update, and we understand and we hear you, and we want to assure [you] that we are working as hard as we can to get this update out to you guys. As mentioned in the previous video, the first update will take a bit longer, as the huge success of R.E.P.O. came upon us like a surprise, so there is a lot of admin stuff and boring stuff that we have to do behind the scenes a of course, work on the game and make sure that everything is steady and ready for the release.”

And there you have it, the second part of the huge Q&A. Unfortunately, the devs didn’t mention when we can expect another Q&A or anything similar. Hopefully, it won’t take long!
