Luffy might make it look easy at times, but the world of One Piece is a tough place to get through. Be it the unforgiving seas or the various threats roaming or located within those waters, even the toughest Pirates have their work cut out for them when it comes to making their way through.
The Grand Line is home to some of the most dangerous pirates, organizations, and locations in the world. We’ve seen tons of unique locations shown off throughout the series. While many of these islands might seem interesting, there’s a good reason to avoid them entirely.
One Piece Anime Releases New Trailer For Elbaf Arc
The last trailer for One Piece’s Elbaf arc is finally out.
Kuraigana
Kuraigana definitely doesn’t look like the kind of place you’d want to find yourself having to explore. The former Shikkearu Kingdom was devastated by a terrible war, leading to Kuraigana becoming the gloomy, desolate place it is.
The Humandrill that inhabit it are incredibly strong, and there’s also the fact that Mihawk made the island his home sometime after the war. Between the ominous atmosphere, bad weather, and unwelcoming inhabitants, Kuraigana is an island to avoid.
Whole Cake Island
Don’t let the name fool you. While Whole Cake Island might sound like a fun place, there’s a lot more to it than its sugary sweet facade would have you believe. The biggest knock against Whole Cake Island is that it’s the home base for BIG Mom, a former Emperor and absolute monster with a massive sweet tooth.

The island itself seems like a childhood fantasy, with cotton candy snow and various buildings and structures formed out of sweets. But all the sugar in the world can’t make this place any less dangerous. It might seem like a fun time, but it’s an island most should avoid at all costs.
Enies Lobby
One of the three major World Government strongholds found in Paradise, Enies Lobby can be a pretty scary place if you’re a pirate. The heavy Marine presence isn’t the only thing that makes Enies Lobby a less-than-desirable location to stumble across.
It’s notable for its lack of a night cycle, with perpetual daylight. But the strangest thing about Enies Lobby is the waterfall under the island that leads to nowhere. This anomaly is unique to the island and gives off a foreboding vibe, though that didn’t stop the Straw Hat crew from wrecking it.
Hachinosu
With a name like Pirate Island, Hachinosu is an equally interesting and dangerous place. Control of the island has exchanged hands a few times in the series, with it starting off as Rocks Pirates’ territory before being taken over by Ochoku, and is now under the control of the Blackbeard Pirates.
Initially, a penal colony for horrible felons, the discovery of gold deposits underneath the island made many of the former inmates there rich. It was also supposedly where the Davy Back Fight originated. Under Blackbeard’s control, Hachinosu is a perilous location for both Pirates and Marines. The massive skull rock at the center of the island tells you all you need to know about it.
Boin Archipelago
The Grand Line is home to some really interesting locations, and the Boin Archipelago is one that’s just as dangerous as it is fascinating. The Forest of Gluttony, a forest made up of different foods like ramen, fruits, and other delicacies, sounds like a dream. But it comes with a big catch.
Aside from the delicious food and treats, it’s also home to giant bugs and man-eating plants that make surviving it a horrifying ordeal. It seems like the perfect paradise, drawing you in with free food, only to have some terrifying predators lurking around, waiting to get you when you’re at your most vulnerable.
Raijin Island
If you’re planning to travel through the New World, there’s a chance that you’ll have to make your way to Raijin Island after passing through the Red Line. And that’s a pretty terrifying prospect.
The island stands out for the endless lightning storms, posing a massive threat to anyone who is unfortunate enough to land there. We still don’t know much about Raijin aside from it being so dangerous to traverse. It’s one of the many anomalies in the Grand Line, and probably one of the most dangerous locations you can find yourself in.
Punk Hazard
Under no circumstances do you want to find yourself on Punk Hazard. The whole place is a massive death trap that served as a major challenge for the Straw Hats early on in their adventure through the New World.
The island’s layout is a nightmare, with an unfathomable mix of icebergs and a sea of fire making up both halves of it. And who do we have to thank for this strange layout? Akainu and Kuzan. Punk Hazard is the result of the two of them duking it out for 10 days over who would be Fleet Admiral. Between the massive differences in temperature, powerful winds, and various icy and fiery ways to die, Punk Hazard is best avoided by everyone.
