Weapons and Barbarian director Zach Cregger has further teased his upcoming Resident Evil movie, saying he’s making a movie that’s unlike anything he’s ever seen. He also addressed how he expects there to be fan blowback for what he’s doing with the Resident Evil franchise.
“I love the idea of being pitted against a world that is hellbent on annihilating you,” Cregger told The New York Times. “It just feels fun and I haven’t seen a movie that offers that sort of experience.”
He went on to say that if his movie deviates from popular Resident Evil lore, he would expect that some part of the fandom to “crucify” him.
