With three new monsters and the return of what was once a particularly annoying entity to deal with in Lethal Company, v80’s creatures are here to add variety and unique fauna to the forest moons: Adamance, March, and Vow. Home to Tulip Snakes and the Giant Sapsucker, they now share space with equally territorial creatures that stalk their unsuspecting prey.
Here are all monsters you can expect to find in Lethal Company v80 beta.
Lethal Company v80 monsters
Backwater Gunkfish
- Exclusive to forest moons? – No
- Threat level – Low
- Rarity – Common
The Backwater Gunkfish has an aquatic appearance that secretes a slippery substance if threatened. You can tell when one is nearby by the sound it produces as it moves: a wet slapping noise on metal. These strange creatures can spawn in groups and appear docile at first. Just like the Spore Lizard, the Gunkfish wants nothing to do with you and is scared of your presence. If you startle it by getting too close, step on or purposely hit it, the Gunkfish will spit green goo at your screen, causing an inked effect.
The goo obscurs your vision for approximately five seconds, but the space where the Gunkfish was startled will now be covered in the same substance for the remainder of the round. See, the Gunkfish fled the scene and left a trail of slippery mess behind. Moving through the substance causes a sliding effect that can throw you off the map (if placed near death pits) and make running from monsters even tougher.
Cadaver

- Exclusive to forest moons? – No
- Threat level – Low
- Rarity – Uncommon
The Cadaver Bloom is a Lethal Company‘s first dangerous plant. It spawns exclusively inside facilities, often starting at the main entrance. The Cadaver is fast spreading flora that releases spores into the air, contaminating and infiltrating your air filter. Standing too close or inside the foliage is toxic and prolonged exposure causes sickness. The Bloom spreads throughout the corridors, but in a predictable pattern as it doesn’t spawn in random locations. It will block paths, forcing you to walk through it. Staying in close proximity to the Cadaver for too long results in fever symptoms, red screen, fatigue, then death. Anyone affected in co-op morph into zombie-like creatures, made of flesh and plant.
Feiopar

- Exclusive to forest moons? – Yes
- Threat level – Low
- Rarity – Very rare
The Feiopar is a panther-like creature that likes to stalk its prey from afar. Similar to the Bracken, the Feiopar hates being watched. You will likely hear it hissing and purring before you see it. The Feiopar lurks behind the trees, using them to hide from your line of sight. Getting too close to a Feiopar, taking your eyes of it, or never noticing it will cause the creature to pounce. Even if you try to attack it, the Feiopar will retreat into the canopy by climbing the nearest tree. That doesn’t mean it’s gone though. The Feiopar is waiting for it’s biding time until it can strike with its claw attack.
Kidnapper Fox

- Exclusive to forest moons? – Yes
- Threat level – Low
- Rarity – Very rare
The Kidnapper Fox has made its return. Still residing inside Vain Shrouds, though rarer than ever before, the Fox remains as territorial as ever. This creature is supposed to be more passive and scared than it was in its introduction back in v60, where it was removed for being too hostile and frustrating to counter. Though Vain Shrouds spawn in abundance on Vow, appear near the main entrance on Adamance, and at the back of March, the Fox isn’t guaranteed to always appear.
Vain Shrouds grow at a ferocious rate if you continuously land on the same moon. The Fox stays within its territory of the Vain Shrouds which grow closer towards the ship throughout the day. It will lasso unsuspecting employees and reel them in with its tongue, killing you once you’re face to face.
