Battlefield 6 has spoken a little about what players can expect to see from the game and the REDSEC battle royale heading into 2026. The tease doesn’t give too much away, but it’s still helpful in setting player expectations for Battlefield 6 next year. Interestingly, the update does appear to confirm one of the most prominent leaks ahead of Season 2.
Battlefield 6 has been a massive success for EA, making a triumphant return by beating the sales of the annual Call of Duty release this time around. Battlefield Studios has kept players engaged post-launch with frequent content drops throughout Season 1, which concluded its last content drop with the Winter Offensive chapter on December 9. In the increasingly competitive live-service landscape, Battlefield 6 has struggled to retain players in the months post-launch, despite its initial success. However, the content itself has been pretty well-received by fans, leading to some hope that 2026 is going to be bigger and better for Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 Talks 2026 Plans, But Keeps Things Pretty Vague
In an extensive community update to round out the year on X, Battlefield Studios gave a small overview of what the development team is working on at the moment for next year. According to the developer, “refining core gameplay, balance, and quality-of-life improvements” is a priority at the moment, but it’s not all about reworking existing content. It also confirmed that it is developing new Battlefield 6 maps and weapons, with the intention of bringing in “fresh tactical opportunities and keep the experience evolving in meaningful ways.” Presumably, these maps and weapons are being prepared for the seasonal content drops throughout 2026. There wasn’t too much in the way of concrete details, allowing it to fully reveal its new content when it’s ready to be shown next year.
The developer also hinted at some big plans for Battlefield Labs. The program was extremely useful pre-launch, as it allowed players to provide feedback on specific gameplay elements in an ever-changing live environment. It went offline post-launch, but Battlefield Labs was brought back earlier this month as a way to get feedback on experimental changes without changing the live game for the majority of players. In the post, the developer confirms it wants to expand Battlefield Labs next year “by bringing more of its experimentation into the live experience.” What form that takes remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see if there are any major gameplay changes that result from this approach.
There’s some great news for Battlefield REDSEC fans here, too. Battlefield Studios revealed that the addition of BR Solos is “still on our minds.” At launch, Battlefield REDSEC was review-bombed by fans, and one of the big reasons was the lack of Solos. If players didn’t have friends to play with, they were forced to play with strangers in either Duos or Quads, and not every player wanted to do that. The good news is that the developer is now “working through the technical details to deliver it at a quality level that feels right for Battlefield.” However, it declines to share more until it’s “confident in the plan and timing,” so that is well worth keeping an eye on next year.
At the end of the “Looking Ahead to 2026” section of the community update, Battlefield Studios also appeared to confirm one of the biggest Battlefield 6 leaks. It says, “for those keeping an eye on the skies… yes, a certain little bird is eager to say hi again.” This is seemingly a reference to the AH-6 Little Bird helicopter, which was leaked for Battlefield 6 earlier this year. It’s unclear whether it’s planned for Season 2 of the game, but the developer’s direct reference suggests it’s likely not too far away.
