After countless days of waiting, it is finally happening. The devs revealed the release date for GTA6. And it is a bit farther than we expected!
GTA6 is, without a doubt, the most anticipated game ever. The last Grand Theft Auto game, GTA5, was released in 2013, meaning the fans have been waiting for twelve years for the new game. Rockstar Games has been known to take their time in order to give the best possible experience they can. They have taken the constant questions about the game as a good sign, that people care, and have deliberately chosen to reveal as little as possible, to keep the excitement and the anticipation high. But the time is now! The release date has finally been revealed.
Release Date for GTA6 Has Finally Been Revealed
On May 2, Rockstar Games finally revealed the information that the majority of the gaming world has: the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6. In a post on their official website, the devs said:
“Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on May 26, 2026.
We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.
With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.

That means we’ll have to wait for a bit more than a full year from now for the release. But, knowing what awesome games have just been released, or are on the way, we’ll have a ton of good games to keep us busy until then.
