Diablo 4 Season 11’s Masterworking system is vastly different from how it worked previously, and this guide will help you achieve your best build possible.
Earlier, reaching the 25/25 quality was the requirement for maxing out a gear. In Season 11, we have something called Masterwork Capstones. The new process is slightly more complex, and you can easily make a wrong choice.
Thankfully, this guide will explain all your doubts that you might have about maxing out your gear in the current season.
How do Capstones work in Diablo 4 Season 11
Blizzard has retained the old 25/25 system with gears. Once you hit the number, there will be an extra button on your screen. Click on it, and you’ll apply a Capstone. Capstonnes apply a bonus to one of your item’s existing affixes. The bonus you get will be completely random.
Unfortunately, there’s no clear indication that the Capstone has been applied. If you repeat the process unknowingly, the affix bonus that you received will be reset. You’ll also be wasting resources in the process.
There’s a new Sanctification system as well that allows you to strengthen your gear further. We already have a detailed guide on the topic. To max out your gear, you’ll want to sanctify your gear at the right moment.
When to sanctify gear in Diablo 4 Season 11
Season 11 allows you to rope in Hadriel’s blessings in the war against the Lesser Evils. Sanctification is an excellent mechanic that allows you to strengthen your gear. However, it adds plenty of restrictions on the gear you selected.
- Make sure you have completed all forms of tempering, enchants, and imprints before sanctifying your gear.
- Always add sockets before the Sanctification process so that you can modify and replace the runes present in it.
- Hit Level 60+. You can sanctify gear before reaching level 60, but the process makes sense to me as an endgame feature. Once you reach level 60, you’ll get Heavenly Sigils, which is an efficient way of sanctifying your gear.
In simple words, masterwork a gear to 25/25. Then, apply a capstone, and finally use Hadriel’s help to sanctify the piece of gear. This is how you can effectively make the most of your gears and take them to their maximum potential.
