“Just Ditch Them!” Monster Hunter Wilds Players Explain How to Complete the Challenge Quest Solo

Now, we don’t know about you, but The Shining Storm Rages Challenge Quest has been extremely frustrating for some solo players. No matter how hard they try, they just can’t get that A rank! So, how does a Monster Hunter Wilds complete the Challenge Quest solo in under 13 minutes?

Monster Hunter Wilds Players Will Have to Complete the Quest Fast

The Shining Storm Rages has just begun, and the player base is already all over it. The players have already found all the tricks on how to defeat the AT Rey Dau, but that hunt still takes time. And many players just decide to capture the monster rather than to slay it.

Well, for the current Challenge Quest, they have to slay it. Also, if you want to get the exclusive Pendant, you’ll have to race the clock in this 8★ Quest. If you want to get an A rank, you have to slay the AT Rey Dau in under 13 minutes. For B rank, you have 20 minutes, and for C rank, you get 50 minutes. Now, this is challenging, especially if you’re doing it solo, but it isn’t an impossible feat!

How to Complete the Challenge Quest Solo and Under 13 Minutes

It might seem impossible, but we promise – it isn’t! Thankfully, the Monster Hunter Wilds community is always there to help, and this time, the players explained how to finish the Challenge Quest solo. The trick is to ditch the support hunters!

OrganizationCertain2 noted: “If you’re struggling to get an A on Rey Dau’s free challenge quest solo, consider turning off support hunters. On my first try, I didn’t know they would automatically join. I said ‘ok, why not?’. My capturing time on the event was 9 mins, currently we’re at 12, and no skull icon at all, I quit. Second try, I changed the setting to 1 player only, skull appears at around 9 minutes, and I slay at 11”.

As it turns out, the monster’s HP scales with the support hunters. Unfortunately, they don’t contribute enough, making the hunt harder for the solo player. Several players even called the NPC hunters “dead weight”. Lorjack stated: “I despise the support hunters, they are barely helpful and far more of a nuisance”.

So, dear hunter, if you plan on going solo, don’t forget to ditch the support hunters. You can do it on your own, it’s not like you’re fighting Gore Magala! Good luck, and have fun! Happy hunting.
