“Is That… Hellmire??” Helldivers 2 Players Unsure How They Feel About a Possible Return to This Controversial Planet

Don’t panic, it isn’t happening just yet! But, you might want to prepare yourself for this one, especially if you’ve started playing the game recently. Some Helldivers 2 veterans have been dreaming of the day they could return to Hellmire, and this wish might come true soon.

What’s All the Fuss About the Return on Hellmire?

Over the summer, the Gloom started spreading and “swallowing” planets on the bug front. One by one, planets disappeared, and we haven’t seen them since. Among those planets was the infamous Hellmire. Now, there are a couple of other planets similar to this one, but none of them are as extreme. For some reason, Hellmire just hit differently.

Now, this is one of those “you had to be there” stories. There are plenty of Helldivers out there who loved fighting bugs while evading fire tornados on Hellmire. These players, us included, were heartbroken when this planet disappeared in the Gloom.

Well, we have some good news for Hellmire fans! With the latest Major Order sending players to collect the Samples on the planets bordering the Gloom, players noticed that one planet became visible. Yup, Hellmire is connected to Fenrir III, one of the target planets in the current MO.

Some Helldivers 2 Players Call Hellmire Their Dream Destination

The reactions in the community were mixed, to say the least. Some Helldivers 2 veterans can’t wait to return to Hellmire, others not so much. Of course, there are plenty of new players who started playing during the holidays, or more recently, after the ban was lifted on some of the regions. Now, these players have no idea what’s in store for them.

Many players noted that the fire-resistant armor would make fighting on Hellmire quite easy. However, remember that the Gloom might have an effect on the bugs. Thus, Chmigdalator, suggested a blood-chilling scenario.

This player noted: “Eh common we got fireproof armor, and it’s less and less possible to meet stalkers in there. This mist is gonna be easy. Maybe we won’t see a thing but with fireproof armor, it’s gonna be easy as cake. Helldiver approaching fast: -We are doomed. They are fireproof”.

Truth be told, we’d love this to happen. And, with the players and the devs talking about higher difficulties, this might be the way to go. So, if you haven’t been on Hellmire, or even if you have, we’d suggest you start preparing yourself, just in case. For Liberty and Super Earth.
