Wicked returns to theaters as 3-hour prelude to Wicked 2 trailer

Universal Pictures is bringing Wicked back to theaters in June. Not so it can break a box office record or celebrate an anniversary, but because it wants to sell you a trailer for Wicked: For Good. And you know you’re going to go.

For one night only on June 4, Wicked will return to over 100 theaters in the United States and Canada. The film will be immediately followed by the trailer for Wicked: For Good, which will debut “simultaneously in all North American time zones so that all attendees will be able to see the trailer at once,” according to a press release from Universal. Screenings will begin at 3 p.m. PDT/6 p.m. EDT.

Viewers will, while supplies last, receive goodies at their screenings, “including a Wicked: For Good commemorative film poster.” Tickets are on sale now; you can head to the Wicked film’s website to snag your ticket.

Wicked: For Good will pick up where the first film left off and cover the second half of the musical, concluding Elphaba and Glinda’s story. Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, and more will reprise their roles from the first film when Wicked: For Good lands in theaters on Nov. 21.
