The “plasticpunk” world of Elynd will see Tidewalkers traveling to multiple unique locations while being surrounded by stylized landscapes and lots of plastic. Likewise, you will also discover heaps of scrap metal, which, if collected, could be used to acquire various goods from the many merchants in Tides of Tomorrow.
Tides of Tomorrow Review Roundup
Reviews for Tides of Tomorrow, an asynchronous first-person multiplayer adventure game, are officially out now.
All Scraps Locations in Tides of Tomorrow
Acquiring resources in Tides of Tomorrow can be a challenging task, especially in the case of Ozen tanks, as everyone is in a desperate fight for survival and to prevent further disasters from occurring. While Ozen may be quite hard to come by, scraps are the complete opposite, as they’re a lot more common. Here’s where you can find them.
Exploration
One of the more common sources of scraps is locating scrap metal heaps on the ground, particularly near the docks, beside containers, and near Ozen merchant shops, so do look around thoroughly. They can also be found on tables, inside garbage bins, and in caches. Not every bin has scraps, but it’s worth rummaging around in the hope of collecting some.
Donation Boxes
There’s also a chance that a Tidewalker before you may have left some scraps inside one of the Donation Boxes that can be found throughout Elryd. It’s also possible to find Ozen tanks in Donation boxes, which can be beneficial to your in-game survival.
Ocean Events
Doing Ocean Events can also reward you with some valuable resources that may come in handy either immediately or later in your journey. It’s generally recommended to hoard scraps, especially in the early game, as you’ll be needing to get as many Ozen tanks as possible later on.
How to Use Scraps in Tides of Tomorrow
As mentioned before, scraps are the in-game currency that you can use to exchange for goods, services, or information that could be valuable on your journey. More commonly, they can be used to buy Ozen from merchant stores or to exchange with NPCs during Ocean Events.
Scraps can also be used to repair broken ladders and bridges, making traversal across precarious areas more efficient and safe, and they contribute to the Cooperative Strait just by performing this action. You can also donate scraps to the Donation Boxes to assist future Tidewalkers when sharing your Online Story Seed link with others, and help them in their adventures.
Scraps can also be used to upgrade your boat’s health, which is useful when encountering explosive buoys, and it requires 100 scraps per upgrade. Lastly, scraps can be given to Reclaimer NPCs if giving them Ozen is a less likely option, which they can then use to acquire Ozen.
