The Ice Maiden Has Been Revealed, and The First Descendant Players Are Excited for the New Arena

The Arenas in TFD can get a bit stale, so it is no wonder that, when Nexon revealed the Ice Maiden, The First Descendant players are pretty excited for the new arena.

Colossus battles are an important part of TFD. Even though there were hits and misses in the past, with Colossi being either annoyingly tough or way too weak, a new boss battle gets everyone excited. It has been a while since we got a new Colossus in the game, so naturally, the players are all interested in what this Ice Maiden will bring to the table. Sure, the majority is skeptical that she’ll have a meaningful impact, as Serena will most likely wreck her in a couple of seconds anyway, but what has caught everyone’s attention is the new battleground.

The First Descendant Players Are Looking Forward to the New Ice Maiden Arena

As previously mentioned, fighting in the same couple of arenas for almost a year now can get a bit stale. So, it is no wonder that players will get excited about anything that even resembles a new arena.

Nexon recently revealed a video where they showed a fight between Blair and the Ice Maiden. The general thoughts are that the design of the Ice Maiden is nothing new, just a reskin of the other “female-looking” Colossi with additional moves, that Blair’s battle music is fire (pun intended), and that the new arena looks pretty cool (another pun intended).

Instead of fighting in the void or near rivers of lava, the Ice Maiden arena is appropriately designed to feature a mix of solid and frozen terrain. The arena is also seriously lacking in cover (according to the video), which only adds to that frozen wasteland feel. Lastly, we haven’t seen that the frozen ground has any impact on you (like when lava is dealing damage to you), but it may be extra slippery and impede your movement. The best part is, at least in our opinion, the really beautiful backdrop. Instead of a plain white or a starry background, we have blue and grey overcast, which is surprisingly easy on the eyes.

As for the players and their commentary, many seem to like the new Arena. “The arena looks subtle and nice,” said Jazz_Soroyuza on X, and “Looks cool and I like that Ice Maiden has a new unique arena…” added evlevlmonkee.

However, some have issues with the apparent size of the arena (it looks a bit smaller than the rest), while others state that it is a good change of pace. “It’s good that the devs push people to use different descendants instead of 1 being a hybrid in all contents. A smaller arena makes the fight [over] quicker but more at risk [of] getting downed.”

In any case, the design of the arena is pretty awesome and totally in line with what you’d expect when fighting someone called Ice Maiden. This only makes us even more excited about the Axion plains and the “world boss”.
