While Phasmophobia may be terrifying, at least you can be terrified with some drip thanks to the newly released Player Character Update, which finally provides new models and a deeper sense of character progression with ways to express yourself with outfits and accessories.
Below, we’ll share details on how you can customize your character in Phasmophobia, along with further details on the options you have available, and what you need to do in order to get more outfits to really outshine those spooky ghosts.
How to Unlock the Nell’s Diner Easter Egg in Phasmophobia
This guide will show players how to complete the tricky Easter egg on the Nell’s Diner map in Phasmophobia to unlock the Ghost in the Machine ID Card.
How to Customize Characters in Phasmophobia
- You can customize your character in Phasmophobia by visiting the in-game shop (to the right of the pinboard).
- Inside the in-game shop, you can select the bottom tab that says “Customization”.
When you’re in the Customization setting, you have the option to change your investigator, and there are now 12 new models to pick from. Each model can be customized further with hair color, piercings, glasses, and accessories.
The middle section lets you choose different hats, jackets, shirts, and pants (with a “coming soon” icon that we assume is for outfits).
The final tab lets you customize your ID Badge, which includes the badges you’ve earned so far through events, challenges, and prestiges.
You can’t save your character unless you equip something you’ve bought, or buy the item you’ve equipped.
How to Unlock New Clothing Items in Phasmophobia
The customization options may seem rather limited at first, but you can change the colors of each article of clothing. To get more clothing and accessory options, you need to complete challenges, events, achievements, and Prestige levels. However, most of these items aren’t actually in-game yet.
All cosmetics can be earned through in-game activity and events, and there are no microtransactions or DLCs that add more clothing options.
