“More Elites!” or “Whatever”? The First Descendant Players Divided On the New Void Erosion Missions

“More Elites!” or “Whatever”? The First Descendant Players Divided On the New Void Erosion Missions

On January 16 we had the long-awaited major update that added Ines Raya to the roster, and various other improvements to the game. It also added a new game mode, called Void Erosion Purge missions, designed as end-game content, for those veteran players. However, a considerable part of The First Descendant players are not too keen on these Void Erosion missions, and the player base is a bit divided on them.

The issue of endgame content has been around since the early days of TFD. The devs keep trying, and they add new content with every major update, but it seems that they can’t hit the nail on the head, and high-level players are always asking for more. The most recent addition is the Void Vession Erosion missions, where you also get the materials to unlock your Weapon Cores, and is intended to be the toughest end-game content we have for now. But, some players are not very happy with them.

“Void Erosion Is Boring” The First Descendant Players Not Impressed With the New Missions

Unfortunately, the Void Erosion Purge missions are not up to everyone’s alley. More and more players state that they are just the same as everything else in the game. The main gripe is, as they claim, that the missions are simply boring and don’t offer anything new. Even the maps/areas are completely identical in every run. “…It makes it more efficient to farm but it also makes it monumentally more tedious and boring, and it’s definitely not the way they should have done it,” said ANort on Reddit. Some add that the rewards are lackluster, and you don’t even get the materials needed to unlock the Weapon Cores.

On the other hand, some players are totally happy with Void Erosions, stating that the difficulty is just right. But the fact that you get tons of Elite (“yellow-bar”) enemies, and their drops, takes the cake here. However, they all agree that a bit more map variety would be great here, which is on the way. The devs did say that stages 21-30 will be “significantly more challenging than Stage 20 and will introduce new environments to enhance the experience.”

The part that’s unhappy with the Void Erosions is more vocal here, but that’s the norm in all situations like this one. Hopefully, the added stages and improvements, scheduled for February 6, will placate everyone.
