The literary world of Alan Wake had overtaken Phasmophobia, bringing with it some complex riddles and puzzles to solve. One of the toughest parts of this event is solving the Doll Puzzles.
There are three Doll Puzzles to solve, with a fresh one unlocking each time you finish one until all of them are complete. Fully tackling all of these trials gets you an exclusive event reward, so here’s how to solve the first Doll Puzzle in the Phasmophobia Alan Wake event.
First Doll Puzzle solution in Phasmophobia Alan Wake event
To solve the first Doll Puzzle in the Phasmophobia Alan Wake event, you need to place the right Dolls on certain drawings based on the hints provided by the riddle on the paper in the lobby. For this first puzzle, you must place the moose Doll on the tree drawing and the deer Doll on the house drawing.
Before you can complete this puzzle, you must first find the right Dolls for it. It’s a good idea to start by finding all the Dolls before you attempt to tackle the Doll puzzles, as you need an array of them to complete each one.
The first riddle you’re given and need to solve for this puzzle is as follows:
He shot the moose in the woods
but he did not shoot the deer
he took the deer to his house
and then he made her his wife
We laughed, but he set us straight
“The deer is dear to me, in more ways than one
but a moose steak is never a mistake.”
The key parts of this riddle are that the moose belongs in the woods and the deer belongs in the house. Everything else is just fun, extra details. Now that you know where each one goes, you can get going on the puzzle.
Start by picking up the moose Doll from the ground in front of Alan Wake’s desk. The moose and deer dolls are quite similar, so to distinguish them, focus on the antlers, as the moose has more bulbous-shaped ones while the deer’s are sharp and pointy.
Once you have the moose doll, look for the drawing of the tree, which is located near the bottom left corner of the puzzle area. Place the moose on the tree to finish the first part of this challenge. If you did it right, the moose will click into place and stand upright.
Next, pick up the deer Doll. Look for the house drawing, which is located near the upper right corner of the puzzle area, right next to the sun. Place the deer doll down on this picture, locking it into place just like you did with the moose.
If you did it right, the puzzle will automatically be complete, with the drawings and the paper changing as it shifts to the second one. For now, though, you’ve completed the first Doll Puzzle, checking off one of the toughest parts of this event.
Where to find moose Doll in Phasmophobia Alan Wake event
The moose Doll can be found on the Elderwood Palace Lodge map, otherwise known as Bleasdale Farmhouse. This Doll is sitting on a wooden table up in the attic, next to two candelabras, one of which is knocked over.
Where to find deer Doll in Phasmophobia Alan Wake event
The deer Doll is also located at Elderwood Palace Lodge/Bleasdale Farmhouse. This one can be found in the walk-in closet attached to the main bedroom, which can be found by heading through the first door on your right on the second floor.
First Doll Puzzle reward in Phasmophobia Alan Wake event
You don’t get any prize for completing the first Doll Puzzle, but it is an essential stepping stone for unlocking Saga Anderson’s Outfit Cosmetics, which is one of the biggest rewards in the entire event. To get it, you must complete the other two Doll Puzzles that follow.
