This article contains spoilers for Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2.
Will Serfort is now one step closer to reaching Elfaria in Wistoria: Wand and Sword. After enduring countless trials, Will barely graduated and achieved the prestigious rank of High Mage. While Episode 6 of Season 2 was largely lighthearted, the second half delivered troubling news for Will and the remaining unscouted High Mages within the Mercedes Caulis Tower.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Will Serfort’s Dream Comes True
Wistoria Season 2 fulfills Will Serfort’s greatest wish, but meeting Elfaria may not be easy.
The Magia Vander’s Tower may be a prestigious institution dedicated to knowledge and magical research, but it remains a harsh and unforgiving place for someone like Will Serfort, who lacks magic. Before earning the right to join a faction, Will must first survive the Pruning Ceremony in Wistoria: Wand and Sword.
Will Serfort’s Colorless Gloria and Wist-Set Silver Sword
A New Garb and Sword For a New High Mage
The main characters of Wistoria: Wand and Sword finally receive a fresh new look through special garments known as the “Colorless Gloria.” These advanced magic robes are a significant upgrade over the uniforms once worn at Rigarden Magical Academy, offering lighter material and greater resistance to magic. With their promotion to High Mages, Will Serfort and the rest of the Grim Generation are officially equipped with their brand-new garbs.
Before entering the Magia Vander’s tower, Will Serfort also receives a new sword with a violet blade from Donnan called the Wist-Set Silver Sword. It serves as a replacement for Moria’s Silver Sword, which was destroyed during the battle against the Devander. This new sword is imbued with a Wist gem, which enhances Will’s attacks. Additionally, it can cut through magic spells more effectively.
Armed with a new garb and a replacement sword, Will Serfort finally steps into the Magia Vander’s Tower alongside Julius, Colette, Wignall, Lihanna, Sion, and the rest of the Grim Generation. Excitement fills the group as they enter the prestigious tower for the very first time, but their anticipation quickly turns to unease when they are confronted by a brutal ceremony designed to separate the truly gifted High Mages from those deemed unworthy.

Entering the First Floor of the Magia Vander’s Tower
The Pruning Ceremony Begins
Before entering the first floor of the Magia Vander’s Tower, some high mages had received recruitment offers from the strongest members of the Magia Vander themselves. Colette, Wignall, Sion, and Lihanna are quickly presented with offers to join various Magia Vander factions, recognizing their exceptional talent. In stark contrast, Will Serfort and Julius are left without any invitation, despite Elfaria’s attempts to recruit Will into her faction.
As a result, those high mages whose colorless glory remains unchanged are required to take part in the pruning ceremony to prove they are worthy of ascending the tower. Failure does not mean expulsion from Magia Vander’s Tower but eternal confinement on the first floor, a place many mages grimly refer to as the “Wand’s Grave.” Hence, Will and Julius join the ceremony while the rest of their friends move forward.
At this point in the story, it becomes frustrating to see the Upper Institute continue doubting Will Serfort’s abilities. Despite his remarkable performance during the Terminalia Festival, he is still subjected to discrimination and skepticism regarding his worth. They even go as far as blocking Elfaria’s recruitment, further showing how deeply they disregard Will Serfort’s unique anti-magic power.
Will Serfort Could Join Elfaria’s Faction
Will Serfort Fights Multiple Zoctonia
Within the Magia Vander, Elfaria’s faction aligns with High Mages who possess immense affinity for the element of water. While Julius is one of the most talented mages who use water and ice-based magic spells, his arrogance, ego, and discrimination against Will Serfort prevent Elfaria from recruiting him.
Meanwhile, because Will Serfort cannot use magic, he remains an unusual case. Technically, Will is eligible for recruitment by nearly every faction, since none can clearly categorize his abilities. His sword can absorb any magic spells, after all. However, as fans know, Will’s true goal has always been to reach Elfaria and stand by her side as a mage-blade, just as he promised in the past.
Based on Will Serfort’s performance in the ceremony, he has the highest chance of joining Magia Vander’s faction. Unless someone from the Upper Institute blocks his recruitment again, it would be easy for Will Serfort to reunite with Elfaria in Magia Vander’s tower. Episode 7 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2, “He Said He Would No Longer Hang His Head,” will be arriving on May 24, 2026.
