The final Angel Comb in Subnautica 2‘s early access build provides us with the Axum Vision, but to do so, we will have to deal with a severe wave of infestations. Clearing the infestation will activate the Angel Comb and allow us to get the modification.
Let’s find out how to access the final Angel Comb.
How to clear the Infested Bloom Clankers (pink flowers) in Subnautica 2
Before we proceed with the puzzle, here’s a list of items you’ll need.
- A Tadpole with the Depth Mk. I module enabled.
- Feedback Resonator
- Better fins, oxygen tanks, and Rebreather
Head east from the lifepod by following E on your compass. You’ll come across the Research Center, aka Alien Ruins, at about 1300m from the lifepod. If you refer to the image below, you’ll find a cave opening on the left.
Head inside, and you’ll find a juvenile Alien Comb that’s inactive. There are two infested Bloom Clankers on each side; shoot at them with a Feedback Resonator.
If you get too close, the Bloom Clankers will just close and won’t take damage. This is what I do: aim at them, and close in slowly. Once the aim turns green, fire your shot.
Once the first two Bloom Clankers are eliminated, follow the root of the Angel Comb going outside the cave. Head straight, and then turn right. Go straight, and you’ll find one Bloom Clanker to your left, and one hidden in the wall behind the second juvenile Angel Comb.
After eliminating both, return to the point where you took the right turn in the previous step. Head straight and keep following the roots. At one point, you’ll go past the adult Angel Comb and find a cliff in front of you.
Swim above, and you’ll find a broken-down lab. Head inside, and use the floor opening to head all the way down. There, you’ll find two Bloom Clankers; eliminate both.
Now, the only task left is to clean the adult Angel Comb. There will be two more infected Bloom Clankers. One of those will be located to the right of the Angel Comb. The other one is located at some distance to the left.
Once you kill both, the senior Angel Comb will be cleaned, and it will become responsive. You can now place your hand to get the Axum Vision modification. With this modification, you can directly interact with Axum technology.
