As part of the Summer Season Festival Playlist challenges in Forza Horizon 6, you can now go on a Treasure Hunt in the Ohtani region to get some points towards the seasonal rewards.

If you go over to the Festival Playlist section of the menu, you can see a Photo Clue of a treasure box in the Ohtani region, but the game won’t tell you exactly where it is-that’s where this guide comes into play. Here’s where to find the Ohtani treasure in Forza Horizon 6 to earn yourself 100,000 Credits and three points for the season progression bar.

You can find the Ohtani treasure right across from the Kinkaku-Ji Buddhist temple, which is located pretty much in the middle of the region (not too far east from the Mech Race Festival Event). You can see its exact location in the image above.

If you zoom in on the Ohtani region, you should see an icon of a temple labeled ‘Kinkaku-Ji Temple.’ There’s a circular dirt road that goes around the temple, and the treasure chest will be right across from the temple. You just need to drive over it with your car to complete the challenge and earn your 100,000 Forza Credits.

While you’re in the area, you can mark off one of the photography challenges and snap a picture of the Kinkaku-Ji temple by pressing the up button on the directional pad. You’ll get 100 Discover Japan points, which will get you closer to unlocking more Stamps, leading to more Barn Find rumors and new purchasable homes to show off your hot rides.

Is the Kinkaku-Ji Temple Real?

Yes! The Kinkaku-Ji is a real Buddhist temple in Japan’s Kyoto region and is a super popular tourist destination. The building has three floors, with each having a different architectural style.

The first floor of the temple is named ‘Hossui-In,’ which was built in the Heian Palatial style. The second floor is ‘Cho-On Do,’ built in the samurai house style, and the third floor is ‘Kukkyo-Cho,’ built in the traditional Chinese Zen style. It can get pretty busy during the tourist seasons, so if you ever plan to check it out, make sure to go early!
