It’s been less than two months since this game dropped, and in that time, the community blossomed into one of the best ones out there. We are constantly amazed by how thoughtful some of the members are. They don’t shy away from discussing complex topics such as misogyny or bullying and offering support to those in need. Lately, many Marvel Rivals players complained they were demanded to switch characters even though they didn’t want to. Thankfully, this amazing community is here to remind you that you don’t have to.
It’s Perfectly Fine If You Don’t Want to Switch Characters
If you’ve played this game for a while, you know how important it is to have variety in your team. In order for it to be achieved, sometimes someone has to switch their character to another one. Of course, there is no harm in asking someone to switch, but it’s important to do so politely and leave that player enough space to tell no.
There are plenty of reasons one would say no to this demand. Some players exclusively pick the character they love the most. Marvel Univers has existed for quite a while, so some people have deep emotional connections to some characters.
On the other hand, it’s been less than two months, and some players don’t know how to play other characters. If they are pressured to switch, no one will have a good time. One player, kxrzxm, noted: “More often than not, they end up as dead weight and spam all their cooldowns at once while praying for the best. Not only are you halting your own team’s progress, but you’re also feeding the enemies’ ultimate”.
Also, we are all playing to have fun, so if someone asks you to switch to a character you don’t enjoy playing, you have every right to turn them down. And if you ask someone to switch and they turn you down, that’s absolutely fair as well.

Marvel Rivals Players Explain That It Might Be Fun to Try Out New Characters
Now, that being said, if you only play as one character, the game might get boring and stop being challenging. So, you might want to consider learning how to play at least a couple of characters from every category. That way you’ll be able to switch characters whenever you please, and Marvel Rivals will become even more exciting. Not to mention, you’ll be able to contribute more to your team.
LarryRedBeard noted: “Something to be said, about making sure you don’t box yourself into one character. I know plenty love one character so much that’s all they are going to play. If that’s how you love this game. I say get it. However, just make sure you know how to play some others in case you don’t get your character. It’s always ok to learn, for learning is one of the best ways to grow. After all, you had to learn to play that first character as well”.
And, who knows, maybe you’ll discover that another character suits you better. Of course, if that’s something that doesn’t sound appealing, you can always count on your community to support you in your decision. Enjoy the game!
