How to Change Your Appearance in Paralives

If you want to change your character’s appearance in Paralives after starting a household, you currently need to use a cheat command. At the moment, the game does not let you fully edit a Para’s face, body, height, personality, or voice once you are already in Live Mode. You can still swap outfits and accessories normally, but major appearance changes require reopening the Paramaker through the built-in cheat console in Paralives. Thankfully, the whole process is quick and easy.

How to Change Your Appearance in Paralives

To fully edit your Parafolk, first load into your household and select the character you want to change. Once they are selected, open the cheat command box by pressing CTRL + F1 or CTRL + SHIFT + C on your keyboard.

When the text box appears, type EDITCHARACTER exactly as written and hit Enter. The game will instantly reopen the Paramaker with your selected Para loaded in.

From there, you can change almost everything about them, including facial features, hairstyles, makeup, tattoos, body shape, height, voice, personality traits, talents, and even pregnancy settings.

After finishing your edits, simply confirm the changes and return to gameplay.

At the moment, using cheats is the only confirmed way to fully edit a Para after starting the game. Since Paralives is currently in Early Access, this system may change in future updates.

How to Change Outfits in Paralives

While full appearance editing in Paralives requires the EDITCHARACTER cheat, changing outfits is much easier and can be done anytime during regular gameplay.

Every Para starts with four default outfit categories created during character creation: Casual, Formal, Workout, and Pajamas. As you continue playing, your character will automatically switch clothes depending on what they are doing. For example, they will change into pajamas before sleeping or wear work clothes when heading to their job.

If you want to manually change outfits, click on the Para you are controlling and look under their name for the white shirt icon. Selecting it opens the outfit menu, and clicking any saved outfit instantly changes their clothes. Opening this menu automatically pauses the game, which is helpful if you are trying to quickly swap outfits without losing track of time in Live Mode.
