Dune Awakening: How to Get Carbide Scraps

Carbide Scraps are a crucial crafting component in a lot of high-level recipes in Dune: Awakening, including the much-needed Scout Ornithopter. Unlike a lot of other resources, however, Carbide Scraps can only be obtained from very specific locations in fixed spots on the map, requiring the player to know exactly where they need to go in order to get it.

In addition, the drop rate for Carbide Scraps in those locations is extremely limited, necessitating multiple supply runs to get enough of this material for all of the player’s needs. This guide covers Carbide Scraps spawn spots in detail to give players a clear picture of where to find them. Here’s the breakdown.

How to Get Carbide Scraps in Dune: Awakening

Carbide Scraps can be found in two main locations in Dune: Awakening.

Mysa Tarill: Northwest of the Western Vermillius Gap, next to the Crossroads Tradepost, is a large dungeon by the name of Mysa Tarill that also serves as one of the gateways to the Shaol region.
Hand of Kidhr: A large dungeon found in Jabal Eifrit Al-janub, north of the Eastern Vermillion Gap. Be careful as you approach, as the area leading up to it has dangerous quicksand.

Both locations are also places where players can farm Diamondine Dust, a useful crafting material required for valuable recipes.

All Carbide Scraps Locations in Mysa Tarill (Farming Method)

While Carbide Scraps do spawn in the Hand of Kidhr area in Dune: Awakening, their spawn points are sparse and far apart, requiring players to spend a lot of time searching for them; Mysa Tarill is a much easier location to explore and contains more Carbide Scraps spawn locations besides. There are 13 Carbide Scraps spots in Mysa Tarill. Here are their details.

Dead Body#1	At the entrance of Mysa Tarill, there are two broken towers on the left and right side. There is a corpse on the left broken tower. Climb on top and look for a red glow near the far end of the wall.
Chest#1	On the right broken tower, opposite Dead Body #1, there is a chest near the guards.
Chest#2	In the main arena in front of the red hologram, turn right and then turn right again. There will be a chest next to a concrete wall.
Chest#3+4	There are two chests directly underneath the large red hologram in the center of the main arena, alongside the Blue ID Band.
Chest#5	Past the red hologram, there is an altar with red candles. Turn left, and you’ll find a chest protected by two guards.
Chest#6	From the red candles altar, turn right, and there’ll be another chest half-buried in the sand.
Chest#7	Past the red hologram and the red altar is a staircase leading down to a shield door. Before heading inside, look upward and you’ll see two battlements on either side of a tall tower left and right. This chest is on the left battlement.
Chest#8	This chest is on the right battlement.
Dead Body#2	At the very top of the tower between the two battlements is a dead body with the Poison Mist Sword Unique Schematic as well as other valuables, including Carbide Scraps.
Chest#9+10+11	Use the Blue ID Band to access the pentashield inner sanctum of Mysa Tarill. Defeat the enemies and obtain the next ID Band from behind the door on the left. Then, use it to access the shield room on the right. There are three chests with Carbide Scraps here. Also contains Unique Schematics, Spice-Infused Aluminum Dust, and other valuables.

There are only three vendors in Dune: Awakening that sell Carbide Scraps. They are:

Vendor inventories restock every 24 hours, which means you can only buy 45 Carbide Scraps in total if you buy all of them out. It’ll cost you 157,500 to do so, and that is not taking into account the fast travel fee if you utilize the services of a Taxi NPC.
