The end of the week comes up again, and, as always, there’s no better time to give your favorite games a spin. It might also be some entirely new experience, fresh out of the oven, and there’s surely no lack of those at the moment.
The Steam Next Fest is still active, with demos of countless indie games ripe for the taking for the low, low cost of nothing at all. From challenging roguelikes to innovative and grueling horrors, there’s a little bit of everyone there. Big patches and updates for established titles have come out recently as well, so there’s certainly no lack of gaming options this weekend.
As for myself, I’m finally back at home and able to use my beloved main rig to fire up some new games that my bricked laptop couldn’t handle. Thus, it’s probably gonna be a couple of days of Elden Ring: Nightrein with the lads and just one turn of Total War: Warhammer 3.
Making use of the active Steam Next Fest, I’ll also hop onto some indie demos, both singleplayer and co-op, such as Hunters Inc. and Hell Clock, as I’ve been having that itch for a proper roguelike/looter-shooter experience for a while now, which these two gems perfectly scratched. Dota 2 is on the table as well, but I may put it off for this weekend so I can catch up on proper, non-rage-inducing games.
I might also fire up and continue my campaign of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind to bask in the glory of classic RPGs from a time when Bethesda still had competent people on board and Todd Howard was a proper designer and innovator, and not a regurgitator of past work.
But enough about me. What about you, Destructoid? What gaming experiences, old and new, are you going to tap into this weekend?
