Did you know that you, and anyone else, can join the test group for the upcoming Season? Turns out, The First Descendant players are not too happy with that practice, and question Nexon’s Season 3 Focus Group Test.
When Nexon announced that the Season 3 release was delayed, the fans were outraged. The lack of content is really starting to show, and the number of active players is dwindling. But Nexon stated they have decided on the delay so they can further polish the update, and knowing how almost every major update is riddled with bugs, this may turn out to be a good thing. But, to keep folks interested, they have opened a Focus Test Group for Season 3, where players can apply and test out the new features and offer feedback. Theoretically, sounds like a good thing. Now, why are players doubtful about this?
The First Descendant Players Fear Nexon’s Season 3 Open Focus Test Group May Lack the Insight of Veterans
As stated, Nexon has just opened a Focus Test Group for the upcoming Season 3, with the intent that players will provide feedback so they can tweak what is necessary. You can check if you are eligible to join on their official announcement, and those who are selected will even get paid for their services. The applications are open until Wednesday, June 25. So, what’s the problem?
As it turns out, the players are not too happy with this “open” application, saying that Nexon is not asking the real players. It is the veterans who should be the test group, the players who are deeply invested in the game and have beaten everything the game offers multiple times, so they know what the game needs. The last time this happened, no one noted that Serena would be way overpowered and effectively make all the other Descendants obsolete, so the fans want to avoid that happening again.

“Please for the love of God get people who understand end game content…we don’t need input from any who don’t, Serena situation with ultra over power from ‘nowhere’…” said acm4dino on X, and “When are you gonna learn this method of recruiting FGT participants doesn’t work? No one in your FGT flagged Ines or Serena was gonna break the game. You could reach out to the top 100 players on leaderboard with actual busted builds, but instead you do this? Really?” added danepark0. Additionally, some are way more skeptical when they learned the fact that money is involved.
While sure, everyone should be given the opportunity, it would be best for Nexon if veteran players were the ones providing feedback, those with a deeper understanding of TFD, and a general idea of what the game needs. So, if you consider yourself a TFD veteran, do consider applying to the FGT and helping shape the future of the game.
