“It’s Payback Time!” Helldivers 2 Players Can Get Their Revenge for the Battle for Super Earth in the Latest Major Order

Players failed the previous MO! However, they were called right back into action a mere hour later. Helldivers don’t require much rest, but they do crave payback for the invasion of Super Earth. Well, the current Major Order gives the Helldivers 2 players a chance for revenge. Super Earth is slowly being rebuilt, and they have to make sure that nothing will ever pose a threat to it.

The Major Order Calls for Revenge! Umm… Restitution

On June 22, the community suffered a loss. It was a relatively close call, but the players didn’t manage to liberate Alairt III in time. This only motivated them to try their hardest for the current MO, and it’s a big one! Thankfully, the briefing explained what exactly was going on.

So, as Super Earth is being rebuilt, it’s time for “substantial war reparations”. The briefing noted: “Our hand is forced. To advance our reconstruction, and secure a brighter future for all citizens, Super Earth will now collect what is owed through compulsory asset forfeiture”.

As for the role of Helldivers in all of this, well, they need to execute lots of the Illuminate fugitives, well, for obvious reasons! However, the players also have to squish quite a few Terminids! The bugs were, after all, abettors, so they bear secondary liability. Super Earth will get lots of E-710 as the means of restitution from the bugs.

Obviously, the MO sends players to kill some Illuminate and plenty of bugs, but how many exactly? For the Illuminate, the High Command decided that 290 million Squids would be enough. As for the bugs? Ten times that, so 2,9 billion bugs. At the time of writing this article, players have around three days and six hours left. They are already at around 40% on the Illuminate Objective, but only at around 7% on the bugs.

Helldivers 2 Players Might Let the Major Order Fail, as They Are Tired of the Illuminate

Even though numbers on the Squid front seem quite strong, the players aren’t too happy. As you know, ever since the battle for Super Earth started, more than a month ago, almost every MO featured the Squids. Sure, the Helldivers 2 community craves revenge, but we’ve seen plenty of posts and comments asking the devs for a bot Major Order.

One player noted: “Arrowhead, I appreciate all the effort you put into the game, especially the Heart of Democracy update. But with all due respect, KNOCK IT OFF WITH THE CONSTANT ILLUMINATE MAJOR ORDERS”.

Another player, Odra, stated: “Another Illuminate MO objective? Leviathans are a nuisance, a chore, and lazy fake-difficulty padding. Will keep botdiving, and maybe some bugdives here and there”.

Over the last week or so, we’ve seen plenty of players (mainly botdivers) requesting a special event on the bot front. It seems that many players would love some sort of offensive campaign, with Cyberstan definitely being the top pick.

Now, it’s possible that the devs are working on something for the bot front, especially since the Squids and the bugs have been in the spotlight for a while. However, don’t get your hopes too high, as the season of summer vacations is upon us. Arrowhead has received plenty of (sometimes) constructive criticism lately, so the devs may be working on improvements and bug fixes rather than huge campaigns.
