As Friday slowly approaches, the players know they’ll get an announcement about this week’s Costumes, as they always do! This week, Thor and the Punisher are getting a new Costume each, but the Marvel Rivals community is sort of split on whether they love them both, or just one of them. So, which Costumes are coming, and what’s the problem with the Punisher’s Costume?
Majestic Raiment Thor Costume and Daredevil: Born Again the Punisher Costume Are Coming!
James, the Community Manager, made an announcement on the official Discord Server, revealing new Costumes arriving on June 27. The CM shared all the details, as well as an image that showed off the skins.
The announcement reads: “Conquer Your Enemies With True Power In the Darkest Of Hours! Endeavor through mighty trials and showcase your prestige on the battlefield in Thor’s Majestic Raiment costume and the Punisher’s costume inspired by Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again! Let your indomitable spirits be known to friends and foes alike. Available: Friday 27 June 2025 at 04:00 Rise above and chop ’em up in style”.
That sounds quite promising, right? Well, we have to agree that Thor’s Majestic Raiment Costume looks, well, majestic! However, the Punisher’s Costume seems… familiar, no? Well, actually, the community had lots of opinions about this Costume!
The Community Might Hate the Punisher Skin
Okay, let’s speak openly, the Marvel Rivals community loves the Thor Costume, but the players mostly dislike the Punisher Costume. Why? Well, according to many players, he looks like he just washed his face, and that’s pretty much it. This skin overall looks pretty similar to the Punisher’s base Costume in the game.
One player, CalmSalamander8668, stated: “This is the same skin. All they did was spike up bro’s hair and clean his face. At least the Thor skin is decent”. Pillbily added: “Sleeves are longer, grenade on left shoulder is gone, knife on right shoulder is gone, clothing is darker, face paint is gone, hair is spikey, yellow tag on chest plate is silver, pants are casual instead of tactical. Same….but different”.
Still, there are plenty of players who are head over heels for this design! One of them, Hatemael noted: “I’m instant buying. The skin I was waiting for. I don’t care if it is similar. Daredevil skin is the best skin”.
