After 4 Years, One Piece Introduces 3 New Legendary Devil Fruits

With the story of One Piece being in the Final Saga, Eiichiro Oda is introducing one legendary Devil Fruit after another. The Elbaf Arc alone has seen the introduction of quite a few of them. 4 years ago in One Piece, the first true legendary Devil Fruit, that is, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, was officially unveiled in chapter 1044 in the Wano Country Arc.

Now, in Elbaf, specifically its climax, which is currently ongoing, Eiichiro Oda has unveiled 3 new legendary Devil Fruits and set up more legendary fruits to be revealed later down the line, which we absolutely cannot wait to see. These fruits are Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, and Akuma no Mi.

4 Years After Nika, One Piece Reveals The Nidhoggr, Akuma, And Ratatoskr Devil Fruits in Elbaf Arc Climax

One Piece’s first proper Legendary Devil Fruit reveal came in Chapter 1044, which was officially released in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #17 on March 28, 2022. In this chapter, the Five Elders officially stated that the name of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, was changed to the Gomu Gomu no Mi in order to prevent it from reaching its full potential. In reality, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is a legendary Devil Fruit that, when awakened, grants one the power of the Sun God Nika and turns them into the Warrior of Liberation.

“Possessing a body with the powers of rubber, and fighting in whatever way he fancies, bringing smiles to the faces of people, the Warrior of Liberation…also known as the Sun God, Nika!” — The Gorosei explain the power of Nika, One Piece Chapter 1044

Luffy has since upgraded his strength tremendously, and his Awakening, which he calls Gear 5 and the pinnacle of his powers, allowed him to overwhelm even the likes of Kaido in battle. In Egghead, Luffy was able to blitz past Robb Lucci and even overwhelm Admiral Kizaru rather effortlessly. Quite clearly, Eiichiro Oda used Luffy as an example to show how powerful legendary Devil Fruits truly are.

Now, in the Elbaf arc, the creator of One Piece has officially introduced 3 more legendary Devil Fruits, the first of which was the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, officially introduced in One Piece chapter 1175 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #14 on March 2, 2026. The Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr was protected in Elbaf for centuries until Loki eventually ate it 14 years ago. The Nidhoggr is officially termed to be legendary and grants the power of a giant black dragon known to be the most enormous in the world. This giant black dragon can also manipulate lightning at a scale that can destroy the entire world, making it a phenomenal force of nature that hardly anyone can rival in battle. The Nidhoggr Devil Fruit was previously wielded by the Warrior God of Elbaf, making it not only a legendary Devil Fruit but also a God Devil Fruit.

“In Elbaph, we have a legend about a Warrior God. He wielded a weapon known as Ragnir, Iron Lightning, and turned into an enormous dragon to face off against the Sun God!! He fought alongside a trusted, loyal ice squirrel known as Ratatoskr.” — Elder Jarul explains the power of Nidhoggr, One Piece Chapter 1175

Following the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, Eiichiro Oda also unveiled the power of the Akuma no Mi or The Devil’s Fruit, which belongs to Nerona Imu. The Devil’s Fruit made its debut in One Piece Chapter 1179, which was released on April 5, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #19. This Devil Fruit is implied to be the mightiest in the world of One Piece, as it grants Imu the ability to become the Devil God itself and utilize two main powers:

  1. God’s Domination, which allows him to enter or force contracts on people or turn them into his slave soldiers using abilities like Domi Reversi.
  2. Omen or Maki, which is a black flame that grants Imu tremendous offensive and defensive capabilities in battle.

Finally, there is the Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr, which is also officially classified as a legendary Devil Fruit, as confirmed in One Piece Chapter #1182, released on May 10, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #24. This Devil Fruit is wielded by none other than Ragnir, the Hammer of the former Warrior God of Elbaf, who was implied to have been slain by Nerona Imu long ago. Following the death of the Warrior God, the soul of the Ice Squirrel Ratatoskr resided within his Hammer, Ragnir, and ever since then, guarded the Devil Fruit until Loki eventually ate it. Now, Ragnir fights alongside Loki, boosting his already tremendous lightning powers even further, as was clearly seen in the epic clash between him and Nerona Imu.

After 4 Years, One Piece Is Finally Lining Up A New Haki For Luffy

Luffy is on the path to getting a new Haki upgrade that could put him in the same league as Shanks in One Piece’s Final Saga.

Why The Elbaf Finale Is A Battle Of Gods Wielding Legendary Devil Fruits

Evidently, Elbaf’s climax is a battle of Gods wielding all sorts of legendary and godly powers. At the moment, Loki, who wields the power of the God of War of Elbaf, is clashing against the Devil God Nerona Imu, and along with him is the legendary squirrel, Ratatoskr. Ratatoskr wields tremendous powers as well and is strong enough to compete with a Yonko on its own.

Then, there is Monkey D. Luffy, who is currently consuming exorbitant amounts of food because he aims to stock up on enough energy before he enters the battle against Imu. These four god-level characters are going all out in the climax of the Elbaf arc, making it one of the most incredible battles in the entire story, and we absolutely cannot wait to see which way it concludes.

“Gotta eat more! I’ve never felt anything like this before! It’s so heavy and harsh! What’s with this guy’s Haki?” — Monkey D. Luffy eats food to fight Imu, One Piece Chapter #1181

One Piece Also Lines Up A Potential Rain God Zaza Devil Fruit

At the same time, it must be said that Eiichiro Oda is also lining up other legendary Devil Fruits to be revealed following the conclusion of the Elbaf arc, the first of which is the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza. This Devil Fruit was officially set up in One Piece Chapter #1182 on May 10, 2026, by none other than Saint Killingham. Killingham confirmed that, along with the Sun God Nika, the Celestial Dragons also fear Rain God Zaza due to its ability to manipulate rain and dump water atop one’s head. All the Celestial Dragons are afraid of the people of the D., Sun God Nika, and, finally, Rain God Zaza. This means that, just like Nika, this Devil Fruit is either in the possession of someone in the world of One Piece or waiting to be eaten by someone else.

“We were born in a place so high, it’s above all the rain clouds. Water coming down from the sky? It’s a mysterious terror! After the people of D and Nika, it was the most common boogeyman they warned us about…that in the lower world, there’s a monster called the Rain God that dumps water on top of your head!” — Saint Killingham explains Rain God Zaza, One Piece Chapter #1182

Alongside Zaza, there also exist the Forest God and the Earth God in the world of One Piece, although it is unclear as to who holds these abilities at this point. With time, these other legendary Devil Fruits will also be unveiled by the author, and we cannot wait to see the characters who hold these abilities at their disposal and the kind of role they will play later down the line in the story.
