All Permanent Ore Spawn Locations in Solarpunk

All Permanent Ore Spawn Locations in Solarpunk

There are a total of eight types of ores in Solarpunk, and each one has a permanent ore patch in the world map that you can mine for as much of that resource as you want without fear of it ever running out.

These permanent ore spawns are also the only locations where you can set up a Drill to automatically mine the ore for you. Combined with a Transport Drone, this can allow players to fully automate ore mining as long as they have enough energy to keep the system running.

However, since these ore patches are spread out across the map, players will only be able to reach them by upgrading their Airship step by step, with each upgrade unlocking access to new permanent nodes.

How to Automate Mining Ores in Solarpunk

To automatically mine ores from the permanent ore nodes in Solarpunk and have them delivered directly to your base, you’ll need two main things:

Item

How to Unlock

Recipe

Drill

Unlocks at Energy Workbench Tier 1 (Requires Blueprint x1)

Transport Drone

Unlocks at Energy Workbench Tier 2 (Requires Blueprint x1)

  • Cobalt x8
  • Iron x16
  • Copper x16
  • Silicon x16

Here’s how this works.

  1. Place the Transport Drone where you want to receive the shipment of your ores (typically your base), and connect it to an energy grid that has at least 300 power to spare. Give the Transport Drone a name.
  2. Go to the permanent node you want to start mining ores from, and place your Drill there. Place an energy generating device like Solar Panels or Wind Turbines nearby and connect them to the Drill to give it 120 power.
  3. Interact with the Drill and select the name of the Transport Drone you put down in step 1 to start the automatic mining operation.

And that’s it! Now, your Drill will start mining and depositing the mined ores in its inventory.

The Transport Drone will fly to and fro between where it was placed and where the Drill is mining to carry the mined ores back to its original location.

All you need to do is periodically empty the Transport Drone’s inventory of the accumulated ores and store them in a chest for safekeeping.
