It seems that several storylines have been quietly unfolding right in front of Helldivers. Without much fuss or commotion, the Warp Links to Meridia have started disappearing, and the Spacetime Fluctuations are off the charts, making Helldivers 2 players simultaneously worried and excited for the future. These are just some of the unusual events that have been happening lately.
Something’s Brewing in Helldivers 2
As you most likely know, the first anniversary of Helldivers 2 is fast approaching. Over the last week or so, all fronts seem to have activated from slumber. On the bug front, the scientists have been poking at the Gloom, and the possibility of returning to Hellmire appeared. Also, the more potent E-710 made some players suspect Helldivers would be going through the wormhole.
As for the bots, well, some players did some detective work and suggested that the Jet Brigade might be coming back. It turned out they were absolutely right, given the latest Major Order. Now, for the Illuminate, they have been lying low. Sure, they attack occasionally, but they always just disappear following the attack. Also, according to the Spacetime Fluctuation Indicator, they are up to something big.
On the evening of January 30, a couple of very strange things happened. Warp Links that connected the wormhole, or what was once Meridia, started disappearing. First, the Warp Link to Estanu was gone, then the one to Crimsica. As of the time of writing this article, two out of five Warp Links to Meridia are gone.
However, disappearing Warp Links weren’t the only curious thing that happened. The Spacetime Fluctuations started acting up, just as the Warp Links disappeared, making Helldivers 2 players connect these two events. One player, hoojiwana, compared the Indicator readings from January 30 and January 27, and the difference is quite visible.
Helldivers Are Excited About Missing Warp Links and Bizarre Fluctuations
There hasn’t been a big update since the Illuminate arrived, and hardly any new content was added. Thus, Helldivers have become a bit impatient. Even though the game is in good condition, fighting the same battles over and over again can become tiring.
The majority of players hope that something big is going to happen during the anniversary week. There have been leaks of a Special Event and a large Illuminate ship, so the players hope that the anniversary is when all of this will come to fruition.
So, the community’s idea is that the Illuminate will summon a planet (maybe their home planet?) through the wormhole. That planet will then crash into Klen Dahth II and the full Illuminate roster will wreak havoc.
Now, this sounds like a great way to introduce the rest of the Illuminate, but don’t get too attached to this idea. There is no official confirmation that this will happen. So, for the time being, we suggest you concentrate on the Major Order and watch as the story unfolds. Be ready to react quickly! For Liberty and Super Earth.
