All around the Fortnite island, there are Sprites waiting to be found and collected. Most of them are fairly tricky to find, but the elusive Grim Reaper Sprite is by far one of the toughest ones to acquire.
This powerful Sprite has one of the coolest abilities you can get, so it’s an essential one to locate and add to your collection. If you’re having trouble tracking it down, here’s how to find the Grim Reaper Sprite in Fortnite.
How to get the Grim Sprite in Fortnite
The Grim Reaper Sprite can be found in Sprite Chests, regular chests, rare chests, golden fishing spots, and as floor loot around the Fortnite island. Since it’s a Mythic Sprite, though, it’s incredibly rare and really difficult to actually come across.
Your best bet for finding a Grim Reaper Sprite is opening up as many Sprite Chests as you can find. These loot boxes are guaranteed to contain at least one Sprite, while all other methods aren’t. Vaults are great spots to visit for them, as these treasure troves usually have at least two Sprite Chests available to open.
I found my first Grim Sprite on the ground out in the open, but it’s quite rare for this to happen. It’s also possible there might be some special ways to obtain this Sprite, similar to how others like the Boss Sprite, the Striker Sprite, and the Fishy Sprite work, but so far, we haven’t found any tricks that guarantee you get it.
We’ll keep searching, though, and will update with any additional details we find here. For now, though, your best bet is to scour the island for as many Sprite Chests as you can find, or try to see if someone is willing to trade with you.

There is no guaranteed spawn location for the Grim Sprite in Fortnite. Instead, it’s a random loot drop that can appear anywhere around the island, which unfortunately means you have to do a lot of searching to find it, and that luck plays a massive role in how easy or hard it is to find.
What does the Grim Reaper Sprite do in Fortnite?
When equipped, the Grim Reaper Sprite marks anyone who attacks you for a short period of time. It’s an excellent tool for combat, especially if you want to ensure you manage to secure a kill against another player who might be trying to make an escape.
