Nintendo has revealed more about the Splatoon Direct happening tomorrow, including the presence of a 30 minute gameplay session

In case you forgot, a new Nintendo Direct is on the way! But before you shake awake your nearest Fire Emblem fan or dust off the Smash Brothers shrine, you should remeber it’ll be focused entirely on the upcoming single player adventure game Splatoon Raiders. If that’s still up your street, there’s been a little bit more info on what’s in store revealed today.

Set to be 15 minutes in length, the Splatoon Raiders Direct will take place on the 30th June, at 3pm BST / 4pm CEST / 7am PST / 10am EST. What exactly we’ll learn remains a mystery, but we now know that afterwards, a 30 minute long gameplay showcase for the game will take place via the Nintendo Treehouse immediately after.

Splatoon Raiders, for those who don’t know, is a bit of a deviation from the mainline games. Instead of being a splattery multiplayer shooter, the new game is a single-player adventure where you explore a variety of islands looking for treasure. It’s all about gearing up with various mechanical gadgets and taking on Salmonoids. It looks like decent fun from what we’ve seen so far, and there’s a giant manta ray in it. What else could one possibly want?

Splatoon Raiders was first announced in June of last year, and received its Summer 2026 release date back in April. It’s a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, so if nothing else, it’s something to bust out the hybrid console handheld – the consohand, the hybridole? – for if you fancy something new. Although, you may want to tune in to the Direct first to see if it floats your boat.
