Stuck on the Mayan Temple Puzzle? Here’s the Solution We Used


Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced features over 12 Sequences, each packed with multiple story missions that players must complete to reach the ending. While most of them are fairly straightforward, a handful throw in puzzles that can slow your progress.

During Sequence 4, after meeting James Kidd on the island, you’ll venture into a labyrinth where the Sage’s Buried Secret mission begins. If you’re stuck on any of the temple puzzles, this walkthrough will help you solve each one with ease.

The mission begins with Edward following James Kidd deeper into the labyrinth. After a bit of parkour, you’ll reach a point where the path suddenly collapses just after James makes it across. Don’t worry, as you’re not trapped. Simply climb the wall on the left and make your way over to continue through the ruins.

The first statue puzzle appears here and is thankfully the easiest of the three. Climb onto the wall on the left and either stand on or hang from the red mechanism to lower it. Doing so opens the path ahead, allowing you to continue deeper into the temple.

The second puzzle is waiting in the next chamber. Here you’ll notice a large circular platform on the ground that rotates whenever you interact with the nearby lever. Your goal is to rotate the platform until the red section is positioned on the left side. Once it’s in place, climb the left wall and lower the red block. Repeat the same process for the blue block, and the doorway ahead will open.

After completing this puzzle, you’ll swim through a short underwater section before following the main path into the heart of the temple. This is where you’ll encounter the final statue puzzle, and it’s easily the one that causes the most confusion. Thankfully, the solution is much simpler than it first appears.

Complete the puzzle in the following order:

  • Raise the Blue block by hanging from the mechanism on the far left.
  • Lower the Blue block into its correct position.
  • Raise the Red block using the mechanism on the left wall.
  • Lower the Red block into its correct position.
  • Lower the Green block into its correct position.

Once all three coloured blocks have been positioned correctly, the final set of doors will open, revealing what Edward and James Kidd came to the temple to find. After the following cutscene, the Sage’s Buried Secret mission will be complete.
