Banadium Gems are the main resource you need to find in Donkey Kong Bananza to not only level up DK and get new skills and abilities, but later down the line, you need a set amount of them to unlock some post-game content.
Whether you call them Banadium Gems or Bananas, there’s a set amount you can find scattered across each area. So let’s break it down for you on where you can find each one. Banadium Gems come in different types as well, with the common rewarding you with a single banana point, with the other two rewarding you with three or five points. These are usually given after completing an area or a boss.
A quick PSA, though, some areas are unavailable until you finish the game, so be warned that we’re about to talk about major spoilers to the game from this point. You have been warned.
Total number of Bananas in Donkey Kong Bananza
A quick note before we delve into the numbers. Some Banandium Gems can only be found after completing the game. So if you are trying to 100-percent each world before going to the next one, don’t. You’ll need to come back for even more Bananas in the future, and as a person who was clearing each world, it makes you very disgruntled.
So then, for the answer.
After beating K Rool and reuniting with Pauline after the credits roll, you will be able to find 777 Banadium Gems. These gems include single Bananas, as well as ones that give three and five points towards a Skill Point. The 777 Bananas are broken up into each area as so:
- Ingot Isle Cave In – 36
- Laggon Layer – 56
- Hilltop Layer – 38
- Canyon Layer – 80
- The Divide – 10
- Freezer Layer – 87
- Forest Layer – 83
- The Junction – 15
- Resort Layer – 42
- Tempest Layer – 70
- Landfill Layer – 27
- Racing Layer – 10
- Radiance Layer – 76
- Groove Layer – 30
- Feast Layer – 69
- Forbidden Layer – 25
- Planet Core – 23
You can also purchase Bananas with Banadium Chips, but these don’t count towards the 777 total.
