Fortnite Runners launches right after the climactic Shattered Live Event, and with it players are sent to a revamped island with new locations to explore and a Battle Pass to complete. However, that’s not all, as heaps of new mechanics have been brought into the game. One of the biggest focuses of Season 3 is the return of Sprites, with both old and new critters showing up. Here is every Sprite in Fortnite, what they do, and where to find them.
Updated on July 16, 2026, by Nathan Round: New Sprites are being added every Thursday, with this week bringing the new Sprites for the Hot Bat DC Summer Event. We have updated this guide to include how to get the Batman Sprite, Air Sprite, Seven Sprite, and the Special Cube Sprites.

Where to Find Sprites in Fortnite Runners
Right now, the best way to get Sprites in Fortnite is through opening Sprite Chests, which each guarantee a Sprite when opened. These Sprites can be found in designated locations around the Fortnite island, along with also spawning in Vaults. See above for every possible location of a Sprite Chest in Fortnite.
Sprite Chests are not the only surefire way to get Sprites, however, as Fishing Spots offer a high chance of securing a Gummy Sprite of any type. Found Quests dropped from containers are also a reliable way to get Sprites, as upon completing them, a random Sprite has a chance to spawn as a reward.
While Sprite Chests are the best way to get Sprites, Chests and Rare Chests also offer a chance of getting them, though the chances are much lower. There are also a number of secrets that players can complete, some of which offer an increased chance of finding Sprites like Gummy Sprites. Here is every secret that can potentially drop a Sprite in Fortnite:
Once you find a Sprite, press the interact button to stow them in your inventory and make use of their passive effect. From here you can proceed to the closest Extract Point, or use a Portable Extractor to extract it if you have not already secured that particular Sprite in your Sprite Collection.
