Xenolord is one of the powerful raid bosses players can fight in Palworld, and while they can’t be captured using Pal Spheres, you can still get your very own Xenolord by hatching the Huge Dark Egg that immediately gets added to your inventory after you beat the boss.
To fight the Xenolord raid boss, you’ll need to collect four Xenolord Slab Fragments and craft a Xenolord Slab, which you’ll then need to bring to a Summoning Altar. Of course, since this huge monster of a Pal is a raid boss, expect to do a lot of heavy fighting, so bring the best Pals and gear you’ve got in Palworld before you even attempt to challenge this enemy.
Where to Get Xenolord Slab Fragments
The best way to get Xenolord Slab Fragments is to send Pals on expeditions to the Dark Cave of Feybreak using a Pal Expedition Station. To guarantee rewards, you’ll need a total Firepower score of 476K, so make sure you have enough powerful Pals to send before you even think about doing this.
Now, if you don’t have enough Pals to meet the Firepower requirement, you can try exploring dungeons on Feybreak Island instead. Chests inside Feybreak dungeons have a small chance to contain a Xenolord Slab Fragment, so expect to do a lot of them if you want to get all four.
You can unlock the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition by beating Bjorn, the boss in Feybreak Tower.
Xenolord Boss Fight Tips
Xenolord is a raid boss with over 1 million HP, and to make matters worse, it hits very hard, and can summon Xenovaders to help fight against you. To maximize your odds of winning, get Ice Pals with the following passives:
- Musclehead increases Pal damage by 30%
- Immortal drastically increases Pal survivability by boosting health regeneration and granting lifesteal. This also improves their Attack by 15%.
- Ice Emperor or the equivalent passive for your favorite Pals’ element for a 30% Attack boost.
- Legend (if you’re using a legendary Pal like Jetragon) boosts your Pal’s Attack, Defense, and Movement Speed.
- Serenity reduces Pal attack cooldowns and boosts Attack by 10%
Ideally, your Pals should have most of these passives, though you can probably get away with just Musclehead and Immortal. In my playthrough, I just threw all my highest-level Pals at the Xenolord. Most of them were Dragon-type Pals; it was a total bloodbath, but it worked.
As for Pal choices, I recommend the following:
- Bastigor
- Frostallion
- Jetragon
I recommend using a Frostallion as a combat mount for its Partner Skill bonus that converts your damage type to Ice while increasing Attack by 40%. This can be boosted by other Pals like Moldron Crysts and Foxcicles.
In my first attempt, I used a Jetragon as my combat mount just so I could fly around and dodge incoming attacks while my other Pals chipped away at Xenolord’s health. Dragon damage worked well against Xenolord since it’s a hybrid Dragon/Dark-type.
If your chosen mount for this battle has the Immortal passive, get a Celesdir Noct in your party as well. The latter will cause your active Pal to gradually lose HP in exchange for up to 80% bonus Attack. The HP loss will be negated by Immortal’s HP regen and lifesteal bonuses.
How to Get Xenolord in Palworld
Once you beat Xenolord, you’ll automatically get a Huge Dark Egg in your inventory. Take it to any of your egg incubators, and it will hatch into a Xenolord. Sure, it’s not as big and menacing as the raid boss you just fought, but it’s still pretty strong. Don’t forget to unlock and craft the Xenolord Saddle too — Xenolord is among the fastest flying Pals in Palworld, nearly tying Jetragon.
