Nintendo Reveals New Switch 2 Console Bundle That Doesn’t Come With Mario Kart

Nintendo has unveiled a new Switch 2 bundle that will include Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Scheduled to be released for both the original Switch and Switch 2 in October, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is one of the most highly anticipated first-party titles for Nintendo’s new hybrid console, and fans of the franchise who haven’t snagged the new system yet may want to wait until this exclusive bundle drops later this year.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A will transport players back to the Kalos region, first introduced in Pokemon X and Y, and will feature a real-time combat system for the first time in the series. During the Pokemon Presents livestream on July 22, Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s pre-order bonuses were revealed, with those snagging the game early on either the Switch or Switch 2 entitled to both a Ralts holding a Gardevoirite stone and 100 Poke Balls after spending an hour in the title. Players who have been waiting to buy Nintendo’s new console until the game’s release may be in luck, as a new bundle will streamline the process.

All Major Nintendo Switch 2 Games Coming Out Soon

The Nintendo Switch 2 has only begun to write its story, and these upcoming new games will be major chapters.

In a new Twitter post, Nintendo revealed a new Switch 2 bundle featuring a full game download of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which will go on sale on October 16. Pre-orders aren’t yet available, but the bundle will cost $499.99 when sales begin. While the set is sure to be a hit when it releases, some fans and collectors may be disappointed to learn that the upcoming Switch 2 bundle will only include a digital code instead of a physical copy of the game. Some users in the comments are already disappointed that the bundle doesn’t include new Joy-Con colors or a unique Pokemon-inspired design for the console itself.

New Nintendo Switch 2 Bundle Will Include Pokemon Legends: Z-A

The Nintendo Switch 2 has broken records following its June 5 release, selling over 3.5 million units worldwide in its first four days, twice as much when compared to the launch sales of the original Switch. The console features several notable upgrades, including a larger screen, better graphics, GameChat capability, and improved cooling. However, the Switch 2 has been criticized by some users for its cost and lack of games at launch, with others frustrated by the frequent use of Game-Key cards.

Along with Pokemon Legends: Z-A, several other major first-party Switch 2 games are reportedly coming in 2025, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Kirby Air Riders. While many Nintendo fans are hopeful, it remains to be seen if either of these games will inspire yet another exclusive Switch 2 bundle.
