The best team composition for Gilgamesh in Honkai: Star Rail is Gilgamesh + Saber + Mortenax Blade + Huohuo. Saber is the core teammate for Gilgamesh’s team since the two can perform joint follow-up ATK when paired together. For the other two teammates, you can use any support or sustain unit. Upon Gilgamesh’s release, the best characters for the two slots are Mortenax Blade and Huohuo.

Mortenax Blade can offer a ton of supportive values while dealing damage as a sub-DPS. He can even enable a sustainless team, since his taunt is pretty reliable. If you don’t have him, you can replace Blade SP with other supports like Tribbie, Sparkle, Cyrene, Cipher, Sunday, Robin, Silver Wolf, Ruan Mei, and Tingyun.

Although the last slot can be any sustain, no one is better than Huohuo. Huohuo can buff the team’s ATK and regenerate energy via her Ultimate. This Gilgamesh team comp is very energy-centric, so Huohuo’s team-wide energy restoration has massive value. Still, if you don’t have her, you can use other units like Dan Heng PT, Hyacine, Aventurine, Lingsha, and Gallagher.

For a non-Saber Gilgamesh team comp, stack up on supportive units to maximize Gilgamesh’s DMG. The best options for this are Mortenax Blade + Tribbie + Huohuo. Both Blade SP and Tribbie are excellent buffers who can also deal DMG, whereas Huohuo remains in her position as a healer who can quickly aid the team’s energy recovery.
