Destiny 2 – Explore Kepler: Fabled Walkthrough

Destiny 2 Explore Kepler destination node

This quest is all about collecting more Strangelets for the Altar of Relativity, and it can be divided into two parts: the first involves collecting Strangelets on two of Kepler’s patrol zones (Outer Steppes and Exile’s Accord), and the second involves replaying a selection of Edge of Fate campaign missions on Fabled difficulty. Either way, make sure you’re at least 150 Light before attempting this, as the enemies can be brutal.

Destiny 2 Explore Kepler: Fabled – Outer Steppes Secret Strangelet

Once you get the Strangelet from either Exile’s Accord or the Outer Steppes, make sure to deposit it into the Altar of Relativity before getting the next one. If you fail to do so, you will be forced to redo the encounters again.

The general location of the Outer Steppes Strangelet will be marked on your map after you accept the Explore Kepler: Fabled quest. It’s in the boss area of the first EoF mission, and to get it, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Go past the buildings and grab the Relocator near the Brig/Servitor spawn location.
  2. Fire the Relocator at the Teleport Pad through the laser-barred door in one of the buildings.
  3. Return to the Relocator’s spawn point and go through the newly-opened portal.
  4. Drop into the hole in the ground, then use Matterspark to traverse the nearby tunnel.
  5. Activate the Fallen terminal and return to the building.
  6. Activate the second Fallen terminal.
  7. Open the door leading back to the Strangelet.
  8. Defeat the Fallen Captains and Walker.
  9. Grab the Strangelet.

You have five minutes to defeat the Walker and the Fallen Captains outside. Failing to do so will force you to start the fight all over again. Once the Captains become invulnerable, use Matterspark’s Overcharge ability to knock their shields off.

Destiny 2 Explore Kepler: Fabled – Exile’s Accord Secret Strangelet

The Exile’s Accord Strangelet is found in the large cavern with the big spire in the middle. You can reach this by fast traveling to Exile’s Accord and looking for the cave entrance blocked by lasers. For this encounter, do the following:

  1. Grab the Relocator from one of the domes.
  2. Take the Relocator to the Matterweave pod across the Exile’s Accord Strangelet.
  3. Use Matterweave to suspend the nearby glowing platforms.
  4. Follow the platforms upward to find a Teleporter Pad in a building across the gap.
  5. Fire your Relocator and pass through the nearby portal.
  6. Press the button inside the dome.
  7. Press another button right below the shielded Strangelet to start the encounter.
  8. Defeat the Fallen boss while dismantling mines.

This fight can be quite overwhelming. Shanks and other Fallen will flood the cavern, and the boss will summon mines over some of the platforms. Focus on clearing the adds and dismantling mines, then damage the boss whenever you get the chance to. Beating the boss will remove the shield on the Strangelet.

Destiny 2 Explore Kepler: Fabled – Fabled Campaign Missions

With the two patrol zone Strangelets out of the way, you’ll then need to replay the following EoF campaign missions on Fabled difficulty:

  • Charge
  • Commencement
  • Gouge
  • Quarantine

There’s not much else to say here, as you should have already finished these missions before. Either bring a buddy or two, or use a build that’s extremely hard to kill. The Explore Kepler: Fabled quest will be done once you finish all the missions.
