Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 1 trailer was scheduled to release worldwide online on July 24 after premiering at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026.
However, the trailer did not arrive as planned. Instead, producer Namit Malhotra took to Instagram to announce that its global release had been postponed. “Today is a very special moment for our ‘Ramayana’, my dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above we will be launching our trailer now globally at a later date,” he wrote.
Although the trailer was delayed, footage from the Comic-Con screening soon leaked online. The clips quickly spread across social media, prompting fans to urge the makers to release the trailer officially.
One user wrote on X, “it’s time to officially announce the trailer because the leak is spread everywhere and no one can control this. it’s better to release the trailer as soon as possible.” Another posted, “#Ramayana team should release the trailer now. Another leak trailer released on internet.”
The leaked footage features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Rakul Preet Singh. This is not the first time footage from the film has surfaced online. Earlier this month, clips from the trailer leaked after it was screened at the Pratham Sankalp event in New Delhi on July 18.
As of now, the makers have not announced a new date for the trailer’s worldwide online release. Malhotra only said that it would arrive at a “later date.”
As for the upcoming movie, Ramayana is being developed as a two-part film. Ramayana Part 1 is set to release in theatres during Diwali 2026, while Part 2 is scheduled to arrive during the 2027 festive season.
