Poll: Call of Duty Fans Say They’re More Hyped for Battlefield 6 Than Black Ops 7

Battlefield 6 seems to have about four times the hype built around it than Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, according to a recent poll. Both FPS games published by EA are set to arrive before the end of 2025, and while the Call of Duty franchise has an incredibly loyal player base, fans seem much more eager to dive into Battlefield 6‘s content.

A leaked launch date for Battlefield 6 shows it is set for release on October 10, 2025, and while Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has no solid release date set, fans can expect to jump in before the end of the year. While the two series seem to have a lot in common, the main thing separating them is their gameplay, as Battlefield places a bigger emphasis on team building and cooperation, while Call of Duty is typically more dependent on the skills of individual players.

Call of Duty Keeps Setting Battlefield 6 Up For an Easy Slam Dunk

Call of Duty’s recent controversies around identity are hard to ignore, giving Battlefield 6 one easy area to capitalize on for a big win.

With both games set to make a big impact in the latter half of 2025, a new poll conducted by Twitter-based Call of Duty news page ModernWarzone shows that FPS fans are more excited about Battlefield 6 than its competitor by a margin of more than four-to-one. Launched on July 23, the head-to-head poll has seen responses from more than 31,000 Twitter users, and 80.5 percent of those responding have chosen Battlefield 6 as the game they’re more excited to play. Granted, this poll started well before nearly 40 minutes of Battlefield 6 footage was leaked on July 27, so public opinion may have swung wildly in either direction since that reveal, but many people responding in the comment section see it as the game with more potential for excellence.

Battlefield 6 is Stealing CoD’s Thunder

The newly leaked footage appears to have mostly come through the Battlefield Labs test environment, which was first announced in February and has been used to host playtesting for the upcoming game’s various mechanics. The footage has showcased Battlefield 6’s destruction physics, including showing a part of a tank being catapulted by an explosion and crashing into a car and building, causing realistic damage to both. It has also shown off lengthy gameplay of both the Dominion and Conquest modes.

However, not all potential players who have seen the leaked footage have walked away feeling good about the game’s future. One controversial feature apparently included in Battlefield 6 is a big problem for snipers, as the footage shows their shots leave thick bullet trails that remain on screen for a few seconds after each shot is fired, giving away the shooter’s location. There’s no guarantee that this feature will still be present once the game goes live, but a multiplayer reveal set for July 31 may shed some more light on the subject.
