Halo Campaign Evolved offers many weapons to equip as Master Chief, and some of them are definitely better than the rest. In this guide, I will help you understand which weapons are strong to use and which ones are not that good in the first place.
While you can use various of them to clear in-game content, focusing on the meta will make it easier for you, especially on the online side of things.
Halo Campaign Evolved weapons tier list
I have used three different tiers and tables to separate all the available weapons.
- S-tier weapons are the best choice you can have. They’re extremely overpowered, easy to use, and get the job done on all occasions.
- A-tier choices are decent alternatives to S-tier options. They are strong but have slight weaknesses that you will need to manage.
- B-tier choices are difficult to master, and they will require a lot of time and effort from you.
S-tier
| Name | Reason |
|---|---|
| Sentinel Beam | A powerful weapon that’s accurate, does decent damage, and it’s easy to obtain from Sentinel Robots. |
| Energy Sword | No other weapon feels as powerful to use as the Energy Sword. Simply equip and slice through opponents like they are pieces of paper. |
| Assault Rifle | The Assault Rifle combines decent firepower, good fire rate, and recoil control, making it easy for beginners and veterans alike. |
A-tier
| Name | Reason |
|---|---|
| Rocket Launcher | The Rocket Launcher is powerful. It has very limited ammo, and you need to know when to use it for best results. |
| Beam Rifle | The Beam Rifle sometimes misfires in my experience, which is the major reason why I put it on the A-tier. Otherwise, it’s a really solid pick. |
| Sniper Rifle | If you are someone who likes to play from a distance and is great with your aim, the Sniper Rifle is a very effective choice, especially in multiplayer. |
| Fuel Rod Gun | The Fuel Rod Gun is fun and has decent damage, but the ammo can be slightly iffy to manage. |
| Spiker | The Spiker is not exactly efficient, but I have a lot of fun with it, and the in-game effects are super amusing to look at. |
| Brute Plasma Rifle | Big guns do big damage, and the Brute Plasma Rifle is a great example of it. |
B-tier
| Weapon | Reason |
|---|---|
| Needle Rifle | Not the strongest of weapons, the Needle Rifle is still a good backup to use. |
| Plasma Rifle | Despite having decent damage, the Plasma Rifle is definitely not as strong as the Assault Rifle. |
| Needler | A good secondary weapon that gets the job done. |
| Battle Rifle | An extremely efficient weapon but lacks in firepower |
| Shotgun | Getting too close to an enemy to make the weapon effective is not my cup of tea. If you like that kind of play style, the shotgun can be considered A-tier. |
| Magnum | The Magnum has decent damage, but it’s very difficult to work around with. |
There are two guns that are missing from the tier list: Plasma Pistol and Submachine Gun. These two are the weakest weapons in my book, and you should avoid them at all costs.
