A new leak has just teased that the upcoming LEGO PlayStation 1 set could ship with an Astro Bot-themed Gift With Purchase. The leaked LEGO PlayStation set still hasn’t been officially confirmed, but given just how many leaks have surfaced over the last few months, it feels like a safe bet to assume it’s coming in the near future.
This leaked PlayStation set would be far from the first time LEGO has dabbled in the retro gaming market. Back in August 2020, LEGO released its Nintendo Entertainment System set, a 2,646-piece set that retailed for $229.99. This set included a brick-built version of the iconic Nintendo console, along with a little retro TV that displayed the on-screen action of the original Super Mario Bros. game. In the years since, LEGO has released another handful of retro gaming-related sets, including a SEGA Genesis controller Gift With Purchase, a LEGO Pac-Man arcade cabinet, and a LEGO Game Boy. Just last week, LEGO unveiled its next retro gaming set, this one a 1,371-piece recreation of the original Donkey Kong arcade machine.
LEGO PlayStation Set Could Come With an Astro Bot Gift With Purchase
Back in March, rumors of a LEGO PlayStation set began to surface online. While LEGO has previously partnered with Sony to create sets based on the Horizon franchise, this leaked set would instead be a recreation of the very first PlayStation console. According to these early leaks, the set would include 1,911 pieces, most of which would be dedicated to building the console itself, but some would go towards building an accompanying controller and possibly an accessory like an original PlayStation memory card. These leaks claimed that LEGO’s PlayStation console set would retail for $159.99 and would release in December 2026.

A brand-new LEGO PlayStaiton leak has just popped up on Reddit. According to the well-known LEGO leaker Brick Tap, the LEGO PlayStation (72306) will ship alongside a LEGO Astro Bot (40899) set. This Astro Bot-themed LEGO set will reportedly be a Gift With Purchase that will be given for free to anyone who buys the LEGO PlayStation set from official LEGO stores, while stocks last. There’s currently no confirmation on what this Astro Bot set will look like, nor how many pieces it will contain.

Interestingly, this most recent LEGO PlayStation leak states that the Astro Bot Gift With Purchase will launch on October 1. Previous leaks regarding this set have put forward a December 2026 release window. Brick Tap’s post claims that this information comes from “verified anonymous sources,” but does warn that the prices included in the leak are “very up in the air” right now and are subject to change.
As is always the case, rumors and leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt. If the LEGO PlayStation set is in fact real and due out sometime between October and December, fans will likely get an official announcement from LEGO towards the end of September. That said, there are sure to be plenty more leaks in the coming months.
