PlayStation 5 gamers have a lot to look forward to in the very near future, especially if they are signed up for PlayStation Plus. With PS5 being one of the most popular video game consoles of all time, it’s no surprise that new games are released for it on a semi-constant basis. It’s to the point where there’s always something new to play on PS5, but some days stand out as particularly busy ones for the platform.
On certain days, multiple PS5 games drop at the same time, and sometimes the releases also coincide with other exciting updates for the platform, like the new PlayStation Plus additions. As it so happens, Tuesday, August 4 is shaping up to be one of those particularly busy days for PS5 gamers, with multiple new game releases coinciding with the next drop of PS Plus free games.
New PS5 Games Releasing on August 4

On Tuesday, August 4, PlayStation 5 gamers have three new game releases to look forward to in the form of Beast of Reincarnation, Big Walk, and Kynseed. Beast of Reincarnation is an action-RPG developed by Game Freak that takes inspiration from games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, while Big Walk is a multiplayer game where players explore an open world environment with their friends. Kynseed, meanwhile, is a life sim game that earned positive reviews on PC, and is now finally making its way to PS5 on August 4. Clearly, there is a great deal of variety when it comes to the new PS5 games releasing on August 4.
Big Walk may be especially notable to PS5 gamers because it’s actually releasing as a day one PS Plus game. Anyone with a PS Plus subscription, whether it’s Essential, Extra, or Premium, will be able to play through Big Walk in its entirety on the day of its release. Releasing as a day one PS Plus game should make it a lot easier for PS5 gamers to set up sessions of Big Walk with their friends, which is great considering it’s co-op multiplayer focus. But Big Walk isn’t the only game coming to PlayStation Plus on August 4 that PS5 gamers should be aware of.
The other free PS Plus games coming on August 4 are Dying Light 2 and Signalis. Dying Light 2 is an action-RPG horror game with a huge open world to explore, while Signalis is a sci-fi survival-horror game that’s more in line with old-school entries in the genre. Both games were relatively well-received at the time of their respective launches, and should make solid additions to the PlayStation Plus lineup.
A couple of days after the PS Plus update and the release of Beast of Reincarnation and Kynseed, PS5 gamers will be treated to a new console exclusive. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is coming to PS5 on August 6, and it will even come with some bonus freebies for PS Plus subscribers to claim. Between the new games and PS Plus update on August 4 and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls releasing on August 6, this coming week in general is going to be a super busy one for PS5 gamers.
