Cartels have become the main addition in Schedule 1, and it’s available in the beta as of writing.
Members of the cartel, as its name suggests, are not your buddies. In fact, they’re your main rivals inside the game, and also the same lot who burned down your RV. The reason is simple: you’re the competition, and they don’t want it on their path. Reducing the cartel’s influence is going to be vital if you want to unlock more regions, and there are different ways of doing that.
Best tips and tricks to reduce cartel influence in Schedule 1
There are two ways to deal with the cartel: you can accept a truce or go to war with them. Either way, you’ll be able to reduce the cartel’s influence via the following steps.

- The easiest way to reduce the cartel’s influence is by unlocking new customers. The process of getting clients remains the same: you go around offering them your products and trying to win them over. When you’re just starting, winning new clients won’t be easy. However, you can soon make new products and increase your client base.
- Look out for ambushes from the cartel members. The more ambushes you can avoid, the more you’ll hurt the cartel’s influence.
- You can also ambush and jeopardize trade attempts from cartel members to further weaken their control over you. This can be a dangerous process, as you should be careful about the firepower they carry. Thankfully, the number of options available at your disposal has increased in Schedule 1.
How you deal with Thomas Benzies will have an impact on how the cartel treats you. If you have a lot of regions unlocked along with all the potential customers in them, the cartel influence will be automatically low.
Once again, the way cartels operate could change slightly, as the update is available exclusively in the beta as of writing. If you want to try out all the new additions early, the only option is to play Schedule 1‘s beta on Steam.
