After a long wait, A Court of Thorns and Roses author Sarah J. Maas has confirmed the titles of upcoming books 6 and 7 in the series. This is exciting for so many reasons, not least of which is how Maas is a pioneer (of sorts) for the “Romantasy” genre, as well as the advent and contributions of Booktok. But it’s been since A Court of Silver Flames was released in 2021 that the ACOTAR franchise received a new book, as Maas has spent that time working on the Crescent City series instead.
2026 has been particularly good for the franchise. Not only has Maas now revealed the titles of A Court of Thorns and Roses books 6 and 7, but A Court of Thorns and Roses: Fate and Favor was officially announced in recent weeks. Fans will be able to get their hands on that ACOTAR game just weeks before books 6 and 7 come out, just ensuring they are fully immersed in the fantasy world of Prythian.
A Court of Thorns and Roses Books 6 and 7 Titles, Release Dates, and Price
ACOTAR Book 6 is officially titled A Court of Splintered Harmony, while Book 7 is titled A Court of Forgotten Melody. The duology here begins The Valkyrie Cycle, a new storyline that continues the overarching A Court of Thorns and Roses direction. And of course, Maas herself announced the new romantasy titles and covers in a social media post, while Bloomsbury Publishing has pushed the title on digital billboards across the United States, including major hubs like Los Angeles and New York City.

Based on the descriptions of each book, Koschei the Deathless serves as the primary antagonistic force across the Valkyrie Cycle. In ACOTAR Book 6, his influence is spreading across the Fae territories as the fantasy world deals with the fallout of the Hybern War and the Night Court fractures. By Book 7, everything dramatically worsens, and all will eventually be wrapped up in Book 8.

A Court of Forgotten Melody retails at a higher MSRP due to the structure of the trilogy, with Maas previously explaining the Valkyrie Cycle would be a continuous story as opposed to a “traditional trilogy.” However, given that there are three books confirmed so far, this may simply mean that the core content of each book is approachly differently. Book 7, for example, contains “Movements Two and Three” of this specific Cycle, while Book 6 is only the introduction (of sorts) with “Movement One.” It is said that Book 8 will contain the final Movement, although it is uncertain if it’s just one like Book 6 or two like Book 7.
