The first Open Beta run of Monster Hunter Wilds in February is ongoing and already has over 250k players.
The fifth installment of the popular Monster Hunter series is one of the most anticipated games of 2025. Titled “Monster Hunter Wilds” it brings the whole monster hunting to a new level, using modern technologies to provide the best experience, both visually and in terms of gameplay. Fly solo or even better with a group of friends, and hunt down monsters of immense size. You can even harvest them for crafting materials, allowing you to make even better equipment, to make your future hunts easier. The game has a couple of Open Beta tests, and the most recent one has reached a respectable number of players.
Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Has More Than 250k Concurrent Players
On February 6, another Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta run began. Once more players from all over the world have a chance to test out a small part of the game, to see what it looks like, feels like, and, for PC players, whether their platforms can run it. On the topic of that last one, Capcom even released a Benchmark that you can run, to see if your rig is suitable for the final version of the game.
The current Beta will run from February 6 to February 9, and it already managed to get more than 250k players on Steam only. According to SteamDB, the peak was February 7, 1pm UTC, with 258.737 concurrent players playing the game.
Truth be told, the first-ever Monster Hunter Wilds Beta, in October/November 2024, had 463.798 concurrent players. However, it is commonplace for an absurd number of players to test out the game and then go on their merry way, so the fact that over 250k players are still interested in Monster Hunter Wilds is nothing to smirk at. And those numbers will surely rise on the weekend.
Another Open Beta is scheduled for February 13-16, while the official release date is the last day of the month, February 28. So if you somehow miss this one, another open beta is right around the corner.
