At this point in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Inside Out storyline, we’ve made a cozy pillow fort for Sadness and discovered multiple pieces of a mysterious plush bear. Although we haven’t fully uncovered its origins or parts, Joy is here to help you organize your thoughts through the Imagination Lands quest.
Starting the Imagination Land quest
Joy’s Imagination Land quest has the following requirements:
- Complete Sadness’s level four friendship quest, The Fortress of Saditude
- Reach level seven friendship with Joy
- Unlock The Fairy Godmother as a Valley villager and complete her friendship quests
- Unlock every Disney Dreamlight Valley biome
Once you’ve met all of these prerequisites, you’ll be ready to begin the quest by talking to Joy.
Find the Forgotten Lands Biome Plans
Following a quick conversation with Joy, she decides that the Forgotten Lands needs a transformation to add some cheeriness to it. The two of you will travel to this biome before searching for some Forgotten Lands Biome Plans within the Fairy Godmother’s home.

The Forgotten Lands Biome Plans will appear in her house as a blank sheet of paper, much like a memory page in new regions and realms. Rather than turning into a memory, you’ll collect it as-is, letting you return to Joy to progress the quest.
Remove Green Fires and Night Thorns from the Forgotten Lands
Once you give Joy the biome plans paper, she’ll promptly ask you to help clear away the fire and night thorns spreading throughout the Forgotten Lands. By this point in the game’s storyline, you’ll already have the means to do so, making this a relatively simple task if you’ve let the biome go for a while.
However, there’s a chance you won’t have many green fires or night thorns, especially if you actively care for the biome or have a lot of decorations scattered about. In this case, you may need to remove some items temporarily, clear away some paths, or wait for more to appear.
Craft the Imagination Land Arch
Once you clean up the Forgotten Lands a bit, you’ll be ready to help Joy create Imagination Land. First, she’ll ask you for an arch, requiring you to gather the following resources:
- Topaz (3)
- Dark Wood (10)
- Yellow Nasturtium (2)

Topaz is an early-game resource you can mine from Plaza rocks. Dark wood and Nasturtiums both appear exclusively in the Forgotten Lands, with the former spawning around trees and the latter randomly growing throughout the biome.
With all three items on hand, head to any crafting station, go to Furniture, and select the Imagination Arch before making it. You can now return to Joy with it, leading her to come up with another task for you to tackle.
Craft Sunflower and Daisy pots
Next up on the list is making some Sunflower and Daisy pots using the following materials:
- Sunflowers (10)
- Yellow Daisies (20)
- Flower pots (10)
If you’re low on either of these flowers, you’ll need to wait until enough spawn throughout the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow before you can start crafting. If you’re unlucky, this can take hours or even days to complete.
Here are some tips to make the process quicker:
- Go into Furniture Mode to get a birds-eye view of the map. A different perspective can help you spot flowers hidden behind objects.
- Move buildings and decorations around in case flowers are hiding behind them.
- Pick every flower in both biomes before leaving to complete other quests or perform side tasks. This’ll raise the spawn cap for each area, giving you greater odds of finding the flowers you’re looking for.
You’ll also need 60 clay and 20 soil for the flower pots. The easiest way to find clay is by digging Wildebeest bones in the Sunlit Plateau or purchasing some from Kristoff’s stall. Soil is much easier to find, as you can dig in any biome to acquire some.
Once you have every required resource, head back to your crafting station, make ten flower pots, and craft the Sunflower and Daisy pots before returning to Joy.
At the time of writing, we’re continuing to progress through the Imagination Land quest. Stay tuned for more details!
