Last week, I wrote:
“Another week has fallen into the Maw. Theoretically, that means we’re now one week closer to the release of Silksong. As if such words mean anything to any of us anymore.”
Does this make me omniscient?
Here’s what we’re all clicking on this weekend, to fill the gap between now and 4th September!

I’ve just been invited to the playtest for kaiju cop imsim Militsioner, so I might give that a whirl. I’m also minded to try out a couple of space games, the venerable Ironseed and the more recent House Of The Dying Sun, after reading about them in the comments for my news article about Deck & Conn. Although Ironseed might be too much for my poor wizened brain after a week of Gamescom. Such a crushing bounty of menus! Beyond that, I might do some research for another article, catch up on my various anime fixations, and perhaps occasionally go outside to peer intrepidly at that very high-resolution OLED display they call the sky.

I will be playing whatever I god damned LIKE so long as it’s on the Gamescom show floor and doesn’t have too long a queue because my feet get tired.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is out of Early Access, which you might know if you’ve read the rare news story by yours truly this past week! All the folks who do the investigating for the RPS Advent Calendar each year know that I truly dig the Prince, even if Roguelikes generally only hold my interest for a few hours at most. So I’ll be diving in this weekend and hopefully having a good time. The incredible OST, which blends traditional Persian instruments with trap sounds, has been enough to stick in my mind for the last year.

I will continue to call friends and family on Discord and then sit in hours-long concentrated silence as we all piece together the next steps of our Satisfactory playthrough. Our mall has undergone its third or fourth “tear it the fuck down and build it better”, and I think I’m finally happy with it. Meanwhile everyone else has been doing more interesting things like Nuclear Power and, idk, something to do with Aluminium. I will also try and fail yet again to convince my flatmate that Manifolding is a verb in factory game contexts.
*Something tells me I could have been more diabolical with this.
And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?…
